The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Everything felt brand new and well thought out. We enjoyed making food on the gas cooker/bbq and sitting out on our private decking area in the evening. Our K’gairi tour had the option to pick us up from Debbie’s which was superb. There’s a shop, launderette and chip shop 1 min walk away. Great location. We loved our stay here. Highly recommend :)

Very clean and comfortable. Hugh shower. Nice and helpful receptionist. It is not in the center of town but the train station is 5 minutes walk away, the ride to town center is 50 cent and takes 10 minutes so you don't have to get there with your car and pay for parking. While not as bougie as the Hayman Island Resort, there is a lot to do at this resort. There are 2 restaurants on the island and the food options include an asian restaurant and a burger and pizza type of place. But vegetarian options available too and a small gift shop in the main lobby. But the key thing is the amazing activities to do on the resort (swimming with stingrays, live reef, sunset beach area behind with a rainforest pathway too to hike, sailing lessons that can be done from the island and scubadiving from island. The island has two sides, one for day trip and one for people staying. Big pools to swim in plus beach side. Great views. Easy to access port to go to reef or white haven tours as well as snorkeling tours or back to mainland to airlie beach or hamilton island. Walaroos are cute as anything on the island and you can feed them apples and bread and rice etc. like they are your pet dog. The cockatoos too. There was also paint and sip and other activities as well. Very family friendly. There is an underwater observatory room(an aquarium of sorts) and morning yoga in that room. there is also a kids section and other such aquariums throughout. It is beautiful paradise

    Tons to see and do.

Tons to see and do. If you are international travellers you will need to be careful of the high temperatures during Spring/Summer. Travelling on the river and long walks are a fun past-time and if you need to lose a few kilos then this is the place to do it. Shopping is great and don't forget to visit Victoria's Basement if you need kitchen or kitchen/baking products.

We visited during the annual festival of flowers. Gardens are lovely. There's also interesting things to do for train enthusiasts. Plenty of shopping and dining options without the stampede of big cities. I was pleasantly surprized by the amount of green spaces and parks. Plenty of space to read a book, picnic or just walk through parks. Lovely museum and cafes to suite your needs

Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback Whales whether for the juvenials that are people curious (known as August whales) or the Mothers and Calves which arrive from early September through to the end of October. My focus is only on the whales but there are various trips to K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island) either by organised bus tours, self drive or by boat to the West side where kyaking and beach tours plus whale watching in season is available. See Tasman Venture web site for details.
