I had an amazing experience there. A wonderful and to my every very nice receptionists whom replied to my every request. The rooms and the hotel are very clean and located in a great place just next to the beaches and the bus station. Very lovely and compact if you're staying near Varna Beach. Huge pedestrian zone, easy to navigate the city (I used Google Maps the first day, and then I was roaming like a native). Loved the huge stretch of park along the coast, all the restaurants and bars. I arrived just as school started, so on the fringe of the season. People very, very friendly. Absolutely loved the beach bar and restaurant Pechkata and the Sea View. Calamar Bar. And my favorite, The Forrest. Swam with the dolphins at the dolphinarium (fantastic!) and even bumped a jellyfish on the head by accident (lucky that, but the poor sucker ended up on the beach two days later). We were really only passing through, between Sofia and Nessebar. We spent a fine day exploring nearby Sozopol - an old fishing port caked in history and with interesting churches. Consequently we didn't have much chance to explore Burgas itself. Nessebar is a world heritage site that delivers a wonderful view back in time, with great restaurants and hotels in a walkable, almost free of any traffic area. Prices vary considerably in some of the restaurants, so care is needed. There are many different retail outlets selling everything from cheap souvenirs to expensive luxury leather goods. There are nice, quiet beaches. If a less tranquil time is required, there is a waterbus to Sunny Beach every half an hour from the waterfront.Guest review bychrisIreland - 10.0

Small old town but enough places to chose from for meals - different for each day. Close to Strandja, Ravadinovo, etc - can roam around. Nice beaches around, if one is red flagged, you can just go 5-10-20 km away to find a yellow or green flagged one. (Kitens Atliman or Golden Fish near Santa Marina). It's a great place to visit for a chill vaycay. Aside from the unique setting there are less points if interest than expected. The palace and it's gardens was great and huge, you should set aside an entire day for it if you plan to see it. The beach was okey, the main one is on the smaller side, it's in a janky area aswell but it was not overcrowded. There was also an odd tiny beach but we didn't go there. It seemed terrible to be honest. A road between the sand and the water and a strip of rock and gravel between the road and water. Have transport if you are staying further into the town.
