CanadaIt was the best accommodation ever. I love traveling, but since I’m quite sensitive, I always look for very clean places — especially when staying outside my home. This place was truly special and unforgettable in my life.
First of all, the host was very kind, and the surroundings were beautifully natural. A cute cat welcomed us when we arrived. There was even high-quality hardwood firewood prepared for a cozy campfire. Inside the house, everything was spotless — from the premium tea and clean kitchenware to the coffee pot. The bedding smelled nice and was very clean. I’m quite sensitive to small details, but everything here was perfect.
The air was fresh, our privacy was well respected, and above all, it felt as comfortable as being back home. The house was cozy, and the barbecue grill was clean. I’d love to come back here regularly. The host just recently started this business, and I truly hope they’ll always be happy in their work. I also wish for many good guests to visit.
We brought groceries from Toronto, but there’s a Foodland only about 8 minutes away by car where you can buy everything you need

GermanyWe had a wonderful stay at Aileen and Dave’s apartment. The location is truly special – surrounded by beautiful, green nature, it offered the perfect place to relax and unwind. Aileen and Dave are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. The much-praised breakfast absolutely lived up to the expectations, and we also enjoyed a lovely chat with them over a glass (or two) of wine. It was a great opportunity to get to know the Canadian perspective on many things. Thank you for a memorable experience – we would love to come back!

The whole cottage environment is so pleasant and family oriented with a nice playground for kids and for adults with life-size chess set and ping pong table etc etc. It is beautifully landscaped with wonderful big rocks lining the beach area. It has several gazebos and 2 extended out to the lake. Each cottage is equipped with a fire pit and of course BBQ equipment. The beach is clean and well maintained with kayaks, paddle boats and canoes free for guests to use. Last but not least, the host Shelley is fantastic, absolutely a lovely lady and very helpful. The local brew pub was great - excellent food and fantastic beers, very good service. Bancroft is known as a mineral capital with a small but excellent mineral museum. There is also an interesting historical museum and an active cultural community. Many artists live in the area and offer wonderful paintings and other creations at local stores. There are some lovely cafes offering great baked goods and tasty light lunches. There are nature trails, great camping and fishing, and off trail vehicles to rent as well as canoes, other boats and catamarans. There are a number of parks for children including a skateboard park. The August long weekend [ first weekend of the month] offers Bancroft's Rockhound Gemboree, a world reknowed gem and mineral show with great specimens for sale. There are also some excellent tourist shops offering gifts and items for the whole family at reasonable prices. Don't forget to drive down the side streets to find interesting shops and restaurants. Alice's Pantry offers bulk food products, and specialty, ethic and local options and home cooked meals. I go to Dwight to "recharge my batteries". It's quiet - it's close to Algonquin Park but also close to Huntsville if you feel the need to be around people. I enjoy travelling during the shoulder season. There is a small grocery/butcher/drug store within an easy walk. I was amazed at the variety they had in such a small space and very helpful if you have any questions. Barry's Bay is a beautiful little town.
Barry's Bay is a beautiful little town. We brought our side by side to get out on the ATV trails and explore the fall colour's and they were magnificent. You can drive you ATV within the city limits which made getting to and from restaurants very easy, saving time of unhooking the trailer from my truck. My only regret of this trip was staying at the Pinewood Inn. It is rundown and very dirty since the new ownership my recommendation is to stay somewhere else.Guest review byBown - 6.0

Unless you are really into nature this place isn't for you. You are surrounded by trails and trees taller than I'd ever seen. You must pay attention to the roads because they are very hilly and windy. There's barely any streetlights so if you're driving in the dark it's really dark! We went to Algonquin park and a few museums in the area. Gleb park has a fantastic sculpture forest! This was our first time experience for camping and what we expected. It has good facilities like washroom, outhouse, washing stations, bed linen and electric outlets. This help us to manage our kids and keep them safe from bugs. Cabins give good sleep and protect kids from bugs and wild animals. This was memorable camping experience. Killaloe is the region name, the Schoolhouse Inn is located in Round Lake Centre and only a ten minute drive from Killaloe village and golf at the Homestead at Wolf Ridge, and twenty minutes from Wilno and Golden Lake. It all circles around nature. Great lake, connected to the Oxtongue River and waterfalls, but otherwise, not much other than enjoying the surroundings. Beautiful sunrise if in the west coast, I can imagine sunset may be great too from the east coast. It may get a little bit noisy as HW60 runs just next to it, with sporadic heavy trucks. Can't recommend this place highly enough! Loved the location - close enough to Algonquin National Park and easily within walking distance (down a lovely riverside path) to the town of Bancroft. (you'd need a car to get to a decent supermarket though). Lots of food and drink options in the town. The communication with the owners was excellent. The apartment was lovely - homely, well-equipped, excellent A/C, immaculately clean. Loved having a washing machine and dryer! We will be back!!!Guest review byLIZUnited Kingdom
