The room was warm and spacious, providing a cozy retreat. Its prime location was incredibly convenient, near the train station and just a 15-minute walk from the city center and Christmas market. The staff were exceptionally friendly, offering vouchers for free public transport and discounts at museums, which was a lovely touch. They also allowed us to store our luggage after checkout. The breakfast area, reminiscent of a scene from Harry Potter, was beautiful and atmospheric, making for a perfect start to each day. While the food variety was limited, it was tasty. The decoration is practical and has all that we need including a fan. The lounge’s simple coffee, croissant and apple is just nice for breakfast. The hotel offer free Basel pass to use the public transport. My friend forget her wallet with cards and some foreign currencies in the safe. We contacted the staff and they kept it for us and it was returned with everything still intact. Thank you for your professionalism and integrity. We can see the old town gate Spalentor outside the room window. It's easy to walk to the main attractions in the old town or take the tram. The reception staff are very welcoming and the hotel provides free water and fruit at the counter, as well as luggage storage services. The hotel takes its guests very seriously. Basel is a wonderful city to explore, and I highly recommend discovering it on foot – the architecture is beautiful and everything is within easy reach. Public transport is excellent: the buses are always on time and very clean. Just make sure to carry some cash with you, as card payments (POS) are not available on buses. A walk along the Rhine riverfront is a must, offering a relaxing and scenic experience.
