The hotel is in a good location for exploring the whole island. Our room was in a great position, overlooking the pool, was comfortable and air conditioned. The hotel’s garden, food and cocktails were all brilliant. A taxi into Hanga Roa was only 5000 CLP. We hired a car from the hotel for the day so we could explore ourselves. We then had a half day excursion with a brilliant guide the following day. She was the president of (I think) the tourism board in Rapa Nui. This was a trip of a lifetime. I recommend everyone to visit Easter island. There is so much to do and see. This is an amazing place to visit. We loved doing the tours around the island and seeing the Moais everywhere and learning about the history of the island. Leave your watch and sense of urgency behind when traveling to Rapa Nui. Days begin with the sounds of Cocks crowing, the weather is temperate and the night skies are filled with stars. There are a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars for all budget levels (generally moderate priced). BOOK YOUR AIRPORT ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TRANSPORTATION (we did it through our hotel) in advance-taxi's are not abundant.
