And this is great service even before we arrived. The spa/gym and pool areas are very clean and the staff are very nice making sure you have a great experience. It’s without doubt not a cheap hotel but worth the quality of a 5 star. The room view on the bund was second to none and better than most of the other hotels and restaurants around. So much that when we arrived we decided to have room service with that view instead of heading out. Food also is great with a vast choice. Everything in the room and in the services offered is made to make your stay comfortable. In particular the rooms are beautifully furnished and very sound proof for a great sleep. We felt very relaxed in the room, even if it’s directly opposite the hustle and bustle of the Bund. We do travel a lot as a family for leisure and as individuals for work and I must say this is one of the best hotels I stayed at without them boasting too much about it. Which makes this property special. It’s a chain but with a top end boutique hotel approach. Very recommended to have a top stay in Shanghai.Guest review byIvanItaly

The staff is polite and courteous and look after the guest well. The best part is the location, restaurants and pub right below the hotel, very close to metro station and great street food area of Yu Yuan Garden yet in a quite lane. They also have a free laundry service which was great for us as it was quite hot and we had tones of stuff from our Beijing trip. You can get coffee and bottled water from the lobby any time you need. Arrived from Beijing where the are many cultural landmarks to see, which made Shanghai feel a bit flat. The skyscrapers and all the lights are incredibly impressive, but I didn't feel as though there was much to do besides shopping and eating. The view from the Bund is great, but the view from the Pudong side is also nice, especially at night. The metro system really makes it easy to get around the city. The building was very old and poorly maintained. The appearance of the elevators was terrible, and I felt embarrassed in front of my guests. The breakfast was average, and the refills were not done on time. The English proficiency of the hotel staff was very poor and unacceptable. They only accepted Chinese banknotes for the deposit!!!
