FAQs about hotels in Eifel
Forests, Castles and Quaint Villages Built on Volcanic Foundations
Situated in Germany and bordering Luxembourg and Belgium, the Eifel region supplies remote forests, picturesque valleys and remnants of a prehistoric volcanic landscape. It runs as far south as The Moselle River and east until the Rhine.
A big feature of the northern part of this region is the Eifel National Park. Nature lovers, cyclists and cross country skiers will love the many paths zigzagging through the dense forests and past glistening lakes.
There are many castles in the region to please the history buffs. Medieval castles such as Lissingen Castle, with its surrounding moat, and Eltz Castle are fine examples that have never been destroyed. The ruinous castles in Manderscheid showcase the ruthless side of history.
The quaint fairy tale village of Monschau, with its well-preserved wooden buildings, is like an open-air museum of how life was 300 years ago.
In contrast to the historical and natural beauty of yesteryear is a modern addition that attracts a completely different visitor. Petrol heads can gather together at the demanding Nürburgring racetrack, which hosts the Formula One Grand Prix every second year and other motorsports events.
Booking.com has a large range of accommodation options in the Eifel region. Holiday homes, villas and guest houses are popular for that family getaway or there are many hotels and apartments at reasonable prices.

- From $254.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 227 reviewsThis was our first time in Europe from the US to visit our grandson at the local US Air Force Base. Can’t describe just how lovely this property was. The Hotel is apps 3 miles from the base and tucked away in a forested area with several large ponds with lovely ducks and swans. There are great hiking trails which begin on the property. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The seating areas were amazing, from the terrace on the water to the large comfortable sitting rooms inside. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The Hotel has beautiful furnishings and artwork throughout. We enjoyed breakfast and the four course meal in the evening. The food was spectacular. We reserved appts at the Spa and was really pleased with the staff there. Plenty to see in the area..all just a short drive away. This is definitely the Hotel we will stay at whenever we visit again.Guest review byMaureenUnited States
- From $151.11 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 1,096 reviewsThe included buffet breakfast was amazing! I can't get over how good these European breakfasts are. I skip the needless carbs (wonderful sweet rolls, bread, etc.) and head for the fresh cut fruit, yoghurt, and muesli. The bonus here was a hot buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. I was fully fueled for a long bike ride, and also brought along some apples and kiwis for the rest of the day on the bike.Guest review byCAPT PUnited States

It is a beautiful historical city, great for visiting! The best points are: 1. the glass blowing workshop, where YOU can also blow your own vase! 2. the city itself, which is totally cute 3. the red house, a great museum about the rich textile background of the city 4. the mustard mill (next to the ACHAT hotel) 5. the Nazi school, such an important historical piece, close to Monschau, at the entrance of the Eifel park, a total must see!Guest review byMaurizioNetherlands - 8.0
A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine.
A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine. Only basic impressions as this was a stop over night en route between Bavaria and the UK. Atmospheric market place, guesthouse just a few steps away and excellent bakery for breakfast made up for a largely rainy night. Would definitely be a candidate for further exploration in the area.Guest review byAshley WilliamsUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely sleepy town just 2 minutes from the Nurburgring...
Lovely sleepy town just 2 minutes from the Nurburgring entrance. A couple of great restaurants just off the main road, and many hotels that looked lovely (I stayed at Apex which was amazing). One word of warning - they have an 'air raid siren' to call the volunteer firefighters to action in the event of an emergency. As Brits, we did not know this and it wasn't mentioned to us, so we panicked when we heard it twice in one night. Given the current situation with Russia, we were a little worried. Once you know what it is though, it's fine.Guest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Remagen was convenient for me for an overnight st, coming by train from Edinburgh on the day, and likewise as an overnight stop on the last day of my holiday. All travel was, of course, by train. On my first visit I had to visit 'the bridge'. A very historic place.Guest review byAlex BomphrayUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Euskirchen is a small town just recovering from the 2021 flooding. Most shops and restaurants are back in operation. Euskirchen is easy to overlook with very good connection to larger cities, my favourite Cologne but also Bonn. So quite good place to live because prices are different from the large towns. Euskirchen is located close to the Eifel region, with a variety of possibilities for visits, hiking, Roman and Celtic history ...Guest review byRolfGermany - 10.0

Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an underrated gem. Being English we barely heard a single country person and you are really missing out! If you love the outdoors I couldn't think of a better place to come. Public transport is entirely free and very easy to navigate with the brilliant app mobiliteit.lu. We went on trains, buses and trams entirely free the whole time. It is very easy to set off from Echternach on a bus then walk all the way back, or just do a loop then return back to base. The Mullerthal trail app again is really helpful to find out what walks are in each area - app.mullerthal.lu. But you could just walk directly from Echternach and our youth hostel. The Hostel was set on the lake. There was a climbing wall, bike hire, walks and swimming lakeside. A huge adventure playground with toilets, a Roman villa, a great restaurant - all within minutes. Two supermarkets, one close to the lake and the other in the town gave plentiful options for food. The town is very attractive and has a long pedestrian street with outstanding restaurants (if you love Sushi go to Wangs, it was out of this world). It's a simple hour trip from Luxembourg city so could be done in a day but that wouldn't do it justice. You could also get to Trier in Germany (amazing city!) in about 45 minutes if a city trip was your thing. You should go!Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 8.0
