We have chosen the hotel for a one night stay in the city of Villeroy & Boch. The castle is romantic, charming with great surroundings. We loved our room. Even if it was hot, the room was equipped with a classic ventilator that helped us circulate the air. The bathroom looked amazing (not the one with bathtub), quality materials and very clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good.

amazing experience we had during our recent stay at your hotel. Initially, we planned to stay for just one night, but we were so impressed that we extended our stay to two nights. A special mention goes to Jorge at the reception, who was incredibly helpful and kind. His assistance made our stay even more enjoyable.     Upon arrival at the reception, the friendly staff helped me with the check-in. I got a card from my room and went to my room. The room was clean, it was not vacuumed and pieces of cookies were left by someone on the carpet, but just at that time there was a cleaning service in the corridor. The women didn't speak English, but they immediately vacuumed the whole room. Then I went to the sauna, swimming pool and hammam. Amazing feelings. Next to the hotel there is a stop for a free bus to the city center. So 10-15 minutes from the hotel there is another stop, buses go there until 4 in the morning. There is also a bar open at night where you can have fun. Conclusion: price / quality 10/10, hotel 8/10, room 9/10, staff 10/10, service 9/10, pool 100/10. With the choice of a hotel, I would not doubt. I would come again!

    Amazing room- a suite that included a living area opening onto a balcony. Stunning full picture window of the hills. Comfortable mattress (that you can flip to adjust firmness). Lovely in-room amenities (bathrobes, slippers, beverages, bath0 and a really well designed room (easy to have a spot for everything that made sense and was functional). Amazing location- I went for a run in the Grun Holle (Green Hell) rock formation in the morning. Great spa amenities (regular sauna, infared sauna, indoor pool). Restaurant on site. Friendly staff who were efficient and got their jobs done. I would recommend this stay to anyone. Breakfast had plenty of choices for me and they even made me a soft boiled egg on demand. I had almost no issues here!

    Wonderful visit to the black gate, free of charge. City center is nice. The roman museum was a bit of a let down - all signs in German, and even with the audio guide most items did not have any explanation. City center did not have that many restaurants.

    Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an...

    Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an underrated gem. Being English we barely heard a single country person and you are really missing out! If you love the outdoors I couldn't think of a better place to come. Public transport is entirely free and very easy to navigate with the brilliant app mobiliteit.lu. We went on trains, buses and trams entirely free the whole time. It is very easy to set off from Echternach on a bus then walk all the way back, or just do a loop then return back to base. The Mullerthal trail app again is really helpful to find out what walks are in each area - app.mullerthal.lu. But you could just walk directly from Echternach and our youth hostel. The Hostel was set on the lake. There was a climbing wall, bike hire, walks and swimming lakeside. A huge adventure playground with toilets, a Roman villa, a great restaurant - all within minutes. Two supermarkets, one close to the lake and the other in the town gave plentiful options for food. The town is very attractive and has a long pedestrian street with outstanding restaurants (if you love Sushi go to Wangs, it was out of this world). It's a simple hour trip from Luxembourg city so could be done in a day but that wouldn't do it justice. You could also get to Trier in Germany (amazing city!) in about 45 minutes if a city trip was your thing. You should go!

    Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.

    We technically stayed in Orscholz, which is a smaller hamelt of Mettlach. It's right where the Saarschleife is as well as a number of biking and hiking trails. We only did the Saarschleife and the Spielplatz, but could have spent a couple days there!

    Luxembourg has so much to offer.

    Luxembourg has so much to offer. Take advantage of the free transportation. You may have to rent a car to get to more remote locations; like Vianden Castle or Mullerthal. The history of the country is amazing and the shopping and food are great. We spent a week and barely touched the surface.

There are a lot of very nice hikes easily accessible from there offering tranquility and interesting landscape alongside the river Saar, for example.
