I love the historic buildings and cathedrals. I also love the view, the areas we walked along the river, the stores and market we visited along the way. I loved the food we tried. The people in the stores and market were nice. The people in the train station were not very helpful. It is more touristic than I thought, a bit overcrowded for my taste. One reason to not take the cable car up the mountain. If you like crowds and lots of restaurants you're at the right place. Great location for overnight stay for early flight out of Frankfurt airport. Nice hotel, friendly staff and on site restaurant with good food was a plus. Beds were a bit soft but comfortable. Came here for Tradeshow in Frankfurt. Really like that it is only a short walk to train station and only 3 short stops to Messe in Frankfurt. Easy to come here without car. During the week several restaurants are close by within walking distance, but they are all closed on weekends. 15 Minutes walk to center of Eschborn for several restaurants on weekends. Enjoyed these walks after a long day indoors at the tradeshow. It is really easy to get around without car. The town is a tourist magnet, but for those who know the Rheingau also a Mecca, neighbouring Gesienheim has the University where many Rheingau wine makers will have studied. The whole Rheingau is within reach, the steep Rüdesheim vineyards above the town are wonderful and peaceful for walking, those with less energy can take the chairlift. We tried the Spanish restaurant near the Bahnhof and Breuer's Schloss restaurant opposite (4 metres away) from the Hotel Lindenwirt where we stayed and also ate and drank.
