For meit was the second stay in this absolutely amazing hotel, Guido joined me this time. The colours, the serenity, the library and the beautifull botanic garden grabs you. Mindblowing. The table serverd authentic Egyptian food was so delicious. Don't worry if you travel on your own. You will be invited by the GM Moustafa Elkerdani to join dinner at the so callled communitytable and meet up with staf and other guests. Simply to let us have an splendid holiday. For sure a place to vistit again.....our next stay is already booked! As we are divers it was great that Emperor Divers new divecenter is located in this hotel. They offer a diversity of diving possibilities. Either housereef, nearby shorediving locations or with one of their boats. There are a lot of turist activities, like boat or desert...

There are a lot of turist activities, like boat or desert trips. The sea is great for snorkelling, the coral reef is not far away, and it's possible to see wild dolphins. Outside resorts, life in Hurghada is not as nice though. The experience with taxis and local people can be awful, they are pushy and often trying to scam you. Always negotiate the price, and book online when possible.

The Alaya hotel guests has a private beach area at Coraya...

The Alaya hotel guests has a private beach area at Coraya bay, my husband and I were given a lift there by a golf cart. Alaya staff greeted us at the beach area ,attending to our needs. providing beach chairs, umbrella and bar service . The swimming are is great, water is clean and warm. Snorkeling and scuba diving is available. I did snorkel and it was a great experience.

I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea...

I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea goes. My favourite place of all time is the Concorde Moreen Hotel, with the Hilton coming a strong second. We only ate at the hotels, because our time was limited. I used the taxi service offered online by Booking.com, which I found to be very efficient and reasonable. But I am also a seasoned traveller in Egypt and do not find it difficult to negotiate with taxi drivers. (It can be very useful to ask Chat GPT first what an average trip should cost you, if you are unsure, and then use that as a guideline for your negotiations.) It's an amazing experience to go out on a boat, but picking the right one can make the difference. I will be leaving my review on our experience separately (as it warrants a whole story on its own :))

Port Ghalib is worth a visit, outside of the AI Hotels. Nice bars, good restaurants and friendly people. On Saturdays there is now a Cruiseship visiting Port Ghalib, hopefully the effects on the reef etc. will be not too negative.

Very quiet town, simple and the sea is amazing. You can swim anywhere. No so much facilities ( food places, supermarkets,..) and pharmacies located around hotels. Weather is hot, limited gas stations and road is not preferable to be taken at night.

The sea was beautiful.

The sea was beautiful. Unfortunately strong winds kept me from going into the sea. We stayed mostly in the lagoons. There was no access to sea from the beach, only from the pier. The life guards were good and attentive.

Very nice and friendly locals! Not many tourists, no aggressive salesmen. The city is not rich, so expect some garbage lying around. Prices are generally very low, not adjusted for tourists (except at nearby hotels). We found only a few restaurants, but many fastfood places.

Beach area we were in wasn't the greatest,no swimming area ,too shallow and rocky not sandy.Took quad ride out in desert was fun.Lots of fish to see on reefs,water very clean.marss Mubarak has resident dugong and turtles but didn't see the dugong on our visit.Overall nice place ,a bit on the windy side but nice relief from heat.

Hurghada is an amazing destination that truly has something for everyone!
