- From $115 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 435 reviewsThe hotel is conveniently located a few meters from the entrance to the archaeological site. Our room was large, bright and soberly furnished. The staff members are very courteous and all speak decent English. However, the most notable aspect of this hotel is undoubtedly its distinctive atmosphere: in an architecture with evidently Nubian features is arranged an interesting collection of furniture items and vintage objects of local and European origin put together with refined elegance by the owner. From the old car parked beside the entrance to the paintings, prints, photographs, knick-knacks, wall clocks, and musical instruments, everything contributes to the Tuya hotel's singular distinction, all the more surprising in such a remote area.Guest review byPieroItaly
- From $380.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 2,587 reviewsThe property was AMAZING! I am so glad we found this place, it was the perfect place to come to after a busy couple of days in Cairo ☺️ We loved everything. The food was delicious, the whole place was super clean, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Our room was also upgraded which was a real treat! The bed was comfy and the room was very spacious. Our veranda was overlooking the Nile River so we got to see an amazing sunset. There are also shops on site which were perfect as we did not have time to go into town to do any shopping. I bought perfumed and oils and the lovely shopkeeper was so helpful. If we are ever able to come back to Aswan we will definitely stay here again. A big thanks to Christine for making our stay memorable 😊Guest review byMarisaNew Zealand
- From $60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 5.4Fair - What previous guests thought, 159 reviewsThis is one of the hidden gems of Aswan. To be honest the pictures don't do justice to the hotel. We got a river view room and it had one of the most picturesque views of the Nile and Aswan. The staff was very helpful, and right from checking in to checking out we had such a pleasant experience. The reception can also help with local tours and taxis. The location of the hotel is also ideal and you have access to most facilities nearby (railway station, busses or boats). They even packed us breakfast when we planned leaving early for other destinations in and around Aswan. This was one of the best experiences we had in Egypt.Guest review byMehfuz BasarIndia
- From $76.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 1,529 reviewsI usually don’t spend time writing these reviews but this hotel deserves it. I arrived late at night after driving more than 10 hrs straight and the general manager made my check-in a breeze. I fall in love with the great Nile’s view from the hoteland the attention to details from all the staff! Especially one of the receptionist, I think her name was Noham who helped me organizing all my trip highlights for the two days! Also she spent almost half an hour giving us all kind of tips! And I know we were not the only ones who noticed this way and beyond service from her! Kudos to the leadership! Well, well done guys!Guest review byIgnacioCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 166 reviewsNubian Lotus is a wonderful place and family. Everything was perfect, the view is spectacular, the room was great for our family of 4. We sat out on our balcony with wine that you can buy and was astonished with our view of the desert, nile, and botanical gardens. The family made sure we had the best recommendations and even coordinated with our tour guide. We would highly recommend taking their package of being picked up at the airport and taking their private boat to arrive right at their pier it was a surreal experience.Guest review byLukeGermany

Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.Guest review byThomasSwitzerland - 6.0

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing.
The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. We both feel like we gained a friend in Abdu and hope to see him again one time. He is so kind and caring! Not only did he help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, get local products for local prices, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro, ATM withdrawals and simcards). We truly think he has a heart of gold and works with honesty not soley for money. His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly greatful we’ve met Abdu and can definitely recommend a stay with him on his lovely houseboat. We hope to see him again one day!Guest review byDanjaNetherlands - 10.0

The bed was super comfortable and the balcony view of the nile was beautiful during sunrise. Hotel can offer roundtrip shared van to Abu Simbel and they provided a packed breakfast. Location is set to more calm side of Aswan blending with the locals. ATMs are nearby as well as few restaurants and many local shops. You can also take the boat for a trip or to the other side of Aswan. Aircon and hot shower were working fine.Guest review byRodfoxUnited Kingdom - 10.0

From the moment I arrived, I felt embraced not just as a guest, but as family. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire household created a peaceful refuge that allowed me to rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. I especially appreciated the loving way they cared for their children, the heartfelt conversations, and their openness to cultural exchange. The meals were nourishing, the environment was clean and safe, and the small, thoughtful gestures—like helping with errands or offering fruit—left a deep impression on me. I was also moved by their humility, sincerity, and the quiet strength with which they manage the responsibilities of life.Guest review byBenton - 10.0

We spent a lot of our time just enjoying Elephantine island, which is quite, safe, and very relaxing, compared to much of the rest of what we experienced in Egypt. There is certainly enough to explore in Aswan that one could easily spend several days.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking.
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking. We visited around noon on a blessed day during Ramadan, so there weren't many tourists. At times, it felt like we had the entire sites to ourselves. You can walk or take a transport cart to the sites.Guest review byHuyenUnited States - 10.0
Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region.
Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region. It s a great stopover for a break after the madness of the tourist sites. The Nubian village ( with the colored walls, where all the motor boats end up) on the other side of the town has been a place where i could have made local friends if I stayed longer. Of course the money making is also there in the mindset, and it s over touristic but you experience the vib of a local village if you stay overnight there. I suggest Ekadolli guesthouse for location outside the touristic area, still close enough to the village, up a hill offering nice view at the Nil. Nebro Guesthouse is better if you wish to wake up right beside the river, in the heart of the village but quiet enough.Guest review byAgnesFrance - 8.0
