Our stay at this hotel was exceptional! The breathtaking view from our room, with the sea so close that we could watch the sunrise right from the window, made every morning magical. This place is absolutely incredible! The decoration is stunning, every detail is taken care of. The place has such a beautiful energy and is an oasis of peace. The breakfast is so delicious with plenty of home made options and the chef is so friendly; it is like eating at home! You can also book for dinner at the terrace and the set up is super romantic. During the night, you can see the stars so clearly. The rooms are very well equipped, the swimming pool is amazing and walking around the property and the common areas makes you never want to leave! We will be back for sure. We loved everything about it! It's unusual to find such gems and this is certainly a special one!

We loved that the room had a terrace offering a spectacular sea view. The bed was so comfortable, ensuring we had a fantastic night's sleep. A great detail was the small, quiet fridge. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, the hostel also had a nice pool. The room was tidy and the location was perfect: it was quiet, not far from the main street, and its position on the hill provided a beautiful panoramic view.

Everything! This is a very special place and would definitely return. Massage with Maria Angel excellent, amazing breakfast served on our terrace every morning (worth every penny of the extra cost). Gorgeous pool and views. A short drive to Agua Amarga for beach and restaurants, but delight to return to after. Eclectic furnishings, large fully stocked kitchen, robes and wonderful long Arabic shirts for the pool.

Las Negras is a small and unspoiled village.

Las Negras is a small and unspoiled village. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and although it was predominantly Spanish speaking, communication was relatively easy. There is plenty to do around the immediate area of Las Negras with unspoilt beaches and water based activities but we also enjoyed trips to Almeria, Carboneras and Mojacar, all of which are worth seeing. We had a really lovely time.

El Cabo de Gata is amazing!

El Cabo de Gata is amazing! It's one of my favourite places in Spain. It's a natural park with lots of cosy small towns and most beaches are set in a natural landscape so you have to make sure you take your own food and drinks with you, depending on which beach you choose. My favourite ones were playa El Cabo de Gata, playa Las Salinas, and of course Los Genoveses and Monsul (you have to get there really early in the morning to get a spot because they have controlled access during the summer). We did snorkelling and I wish I had better equipment with me because there are lots of fishies under those waters and they come really close to you! And I highly recommend doing a boat tour. We took our from Playa de las Salinas and we got in a small motorboat and had a ride around El Cabo. We had a guide who explained what we were seeing, had a stop for a quick swim and got an adrenaline rush! One last thing, if you go to El Cabo de Gata, please don't litter.Always take your rubbish with you. It crushed my heart to see the amount of rubbish people leave behind. There were lots of plastic bags, cans, cigarette buts and all sorts of rubbish.

Very quiet village when we visited.

Very quiet village when we visited. We enjoy walking and Las Negras is an ideal base. There are a number of secluded beaches nearby that can only be reached on foot. A car is definitely needed as the village only has one small shop for groceries although it is well stocked. Out of holiday season there are only limited eating options. We enjoyed the fried fish platter at La Palma. It wouldn't appear to be very suitable for children - the beach at Las Negras itself is very pebbly. The surrounding area is incredibly scenic.

Marc and his family always give us a good, honest welcome. The hotel is peaceful and spotlessly clean with ample car parking spaces. The food is first class, nicely presented and delicious. It is obvious that it is run by a family not paid employees. We will be back again next year.
