FAQs about hotels in Catalonia
Resorts for All Seasons
From the heights of La Molina ski resort down to Mediterranean beaches, Catalonia is a fantastic Spanish region. Its capital Barcelona, Gaudì’s masterpiece, is home to most 5-star hotels in Catalonia on Booking.com.
Castelldefels has a long, sandy beach, and its neighbour Sitges has a seafront church overlooking its beach. Tarragona has remains of a Roman theatre and aqueduct, and is near the Costa Dorada’s PortAventura theme park. Salou has a wide, beachfront promenade, as does Cambrils which also has a marina.
The Costa Brava resorts of Calella and Platja d’Aro have long, sandy beaches, and between them are beautiful Blanes and lively Lloret de Mar. A castle guards Tossa de Mar bay and L’Estartit is at the foot of a triangular hill. Next to Empuriabrava’s large marina, Roses has a citadel and palm-lined promenade, and there is outlandish architecture in Figueres, Dalì’s birthplace. A whitewashed former home of his is in coastal Cadaqués.
By Andorra, La Seu d’Urgell houses several hotels in the Catalonian Pyrenées, and Vielha valley is surrounded by mountains, as is the lake at Puigcerdà near France. Olot has 4 volcanoes within it and Lleida is one of Catalonia’s oldest towns.
High-altitude Tortosa has a hilltop castle and impressive cathedral, and colourful, multi-shaped buildings line Girona’s riverfront, while partially intact city walls surround its old town.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,134 reviewsWe stayed for two nights in a chalet. Very impressed with the facilities. It was well thought out for every comfort and weather. The only thing not provided is a kettle, not everyone drinks coffee. But most things were provided. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was delicious. The staff were attentive, friendly and spoke several languages. We are thinking of returning one day in our motorhome. Although we didn't use the sport facilities or the swimming pools we were very impressed, the pools look amazing. Close to a natural park and to the beach. I highly recommend this site.Guest review byLloyd PaulineSpain

Barcelona is a wonderful city!
Barcelona is a wonderful city! I would recommend choosing a few places to see if you only have 3-4 days there as it is a large city and things are very spread out. Staying near Sagrada allows you to have time to visit the Basilica and Park Guell easily. While staying in the Gothic Quarter lets you explore that unique area easily and Bacerloneta beach is within a 20 minute walk. I would definitely suggest using public transit if you plan to visit Montjuic as it is very far on foot. If you are going to use cabs then I would suggest the City Cabs instead of Cabify or uber as these are both super slow an arrive an unreliable times which can be stressful for the aiport. Plus the cabify location is really hard to find at the Barcelona airport. There is no need to carry cash with you, everywhere accepts Visa transactions even small groceries and vendors. Keep an eye on your belongings at all times, dont' leave luggage attended and have a hand on your bag and everything will be fine, the city felt very safe!Guest review bymaggiesutherland86Canada - 10.0

When selecting your beach vacation in Spain, this is the place! Salou is the perfect town for all family members. The beaches are beautiful and very clean. For the kids there is a theme park in nearby PortAventura! For the adults, Salou is right next to the Priorat Region; one of the two premier wine regions of Spain. Booking.com has several very affordable wine tasting excursions that can be booked with hotel pickup from Salou.Guest review byScottUnited States - 8.0

A lovely stroll along the seafront takes you to the castle, with plenty of restaurants, cafés, and bars to choose from along the way. Sunbeds were €8 each, and the same for an umbrella — which I felt was quite expensive. There’s a good range of water sports available for those feeling adventurous. Most of the bars and restaurants we visited were great.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Panoramic views from ancient town walls and steep hilltop locations that overlook the mountains in the distance. Beautiful cobblestoned streets and secret staircases help you wind your way to all of the sights including the Arab Baths, the dramatic Girona Cathedral and Sent Felieu. Plenty of lively cafes to take a coffee or enjoy an aperitif, and generous and welcoming locals. Across the river from old town and larger avenues and shops and local life. Walk up to Sant Daniel to see the views and just enjoy a vigorous workout climbing between sights and then descending again. Lovely town, full of life, cyclers, and university students. Great vibe. September visit, so less crowds than summer.Guest review bycml50United States - 10.0
