FAQs about hotels in Costa del Sol
Much More Than Just Sun
With warm waters and sun-drenched beaches, the Costa del Sol certainly lives up to its name. From north of Gibraltar to Almuñecar, this part of Andalusia is a top destination for holidaymakers of all budgets.
Puerto Banús attracts the world’s super-rich, and many moor million-pound yachts in its harbour. Glamorous Marbella also has designer shops, an orange tree-lined square, and easy access to Costa del Sol golf courses.
Quieter Estepona has a low-key harbour and several good Costa del Sol hotels for kids, while Fuengirola’s long, sandy beach is overlooked by a Moorish castle and Roman ruins. On its outskirts is Mijas waterpark, named after the hill town offering fantastic views of the Costa’s rugged mountains and pristine beaches.
Another waterpark - Aqualand - is in Torremolinos, a vibrant resort with many Costa del Sol hotels by the beach. Long and sandy, it stretches all the way to lively Benalmádena, from where dolphin watching trips depart. Also here is Tivoli World theme park, and a cable car just opposite goes up Monte Calamorro.
With its impressive Alcazaba castle overlooking Roman ruins, Málaga, the region’s capital, was the birthplace of Picasso, and a museum and his former home can be visited. Nerja to the east boasts a 19th-century aqueduct and the Balcony of Europe promenade above its beach.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 875 reviewsWe were part of the Leiro experience. We had a beautiful suite on the 7th floor with a humongous bed. We were guided through the suite experiences and extra's. Welcomed with a glass of Cava, valet parking and guided to the room. Included in the package was a visit on the top floor infinity pool. When we came back in the room there was a whole set put ready for us, with a complimentary bottle of Cava and Gin-Tonic. In the morning we had the special breakfast on the top floor. This was wonderful and quiet and possible because we had the Leiro upgrade. The hotel facilities are worth 5 star+ and all the staff was very friendly. You really feel that you are away from home and in a special place. Just great!Guest review byTuurNetherlands

It was a room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, with the promised double bed. The room was provided with an electric kettle and cups, as well as a mini-fridge. A wonderful terrace with a bar, pool on the roof with a view and sun loungers, and even in early November I managed to sunbathe! Thank you hotel.Guest review byLeoCzech Republic

Malaga is a great city. The food is stellar. The atmosphere and night life are stellar. The beaches are great. It is a short trip to wonderful sites like Alhambra and Gibraltar. It is one of my favorite cities in Europe.Guest review byMitchellUnited States - 10.0
Great coastline full of lovely beaches.
Great coastline full of lovely beaches. Sandy, safe, clean water and suitable for sunbathing or for families. Lots to do in Marbella itself but absolutely miles upon miles of coastline to work with, with lots of beach bars and little villages along the way.Guest review byjoUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Wide variety of bars, cafes and restaurants.
Wide variety of bars, cafes and restaurants. Easy to get to via train and bus. Wide, clean beaches, a very efficient town hall from my experience. People are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, not to most architecturally interesting of towns, but safe and welcoming. Malaga is in very easy reach for a wider cultural experience of Spain.Guest review byTedUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Fuengirolla is a busy resort that spreads along the coastine past Los Boliches to Torreblanca. You can find beaches, restaurants and bars to suit your taste. The 'Square' is at the heart of the town, the Bubba Bar and Casa Colon being our favourites. The train is an easy way to visit other local areas as far back as Malaga at very reasonable prices. What's not to like?Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nerja was a beautiful town with lovely little beach alcoves.
Nerja was a beautiful town with lovely little beach alcoves. The Balcon de Europa had stunning sunset views. Great restaurants & bars with plenty of lovely shops. Friendly safe vibes when strolling around. Easy to visit local towns by local bus. Best steak at a restaurant called ‘Rare’ advise booking a table on their terrace. Best cocktails also.Guest review byGerardIreland - 10.0

We were close to the Supermarkets important for self-catering. The village of Cancelada with lots of fabulous restaurants and bars is 10 minutes away as is Marbella and Porta Banus. Only 15 minutes to Benhavis and Estepona. Close to the beach and some nice walks and beach bars to be found. The people are so friendly I used to go to Fresh Bar (Taro) by the Mercadonna for breakfast very good and reasonable. We went boating and jet skiing again not too expensive. I'm sure there is lots more to explore in Estepona and Andalusia.Guest review byBenson - 10.0

A very beautiful village with lots of stores, restaurants (some were amazing!), bars, and mostly lots of character and history. It is super clean. Welcoming feeling. Lots of nooks and crannies to enjoy walks. There is a bus to the beach area and lots of taxis close to arrange as needed.Guest review byLydiaCanada - 8.0
The price is good for the location and for what you get.
The price is good for the location and for what you get. But there is some noise because the rooms are far, far from sound proof. And the breakfast should be skipped since it is pointless. But for the location and price, this is a good choice.Guest review byTommySpain - 8.0

Quiet resort leading down to the beach, though steps up to the apartment not suitable for some people. Write up said some entertainment but only music on one evening. Walk up and over the bridge to local Lidl may not be suitable for the less mobile. Good bus service to Fuengirola.Guest review byAnn MarieGuernsey
