FAQs about hotels on Lanzarote
The Island Out of This Planet
Volcanic Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, features the dramatic landscapes of the Timanfaya National Park and the lush beaches of Papagayo and Blanco. Its out-of-this-world appearance, due to volcanic eruptions of the 18th and 19th centuries, earns Lanzarote a well-deserved spot in the sci-fi film sets list.
The island has the longest volcanic submerged tunnel in the world (1,500 metres), the Tunnel de la Atlantida, which boasts the amazing Cueva de los Verdes lava tube with walls illuminated by coloured lights.
Lanzarote has 213 km of coastline, most of which is rocky and complements perfectly the island’s 2 mountain ranges of Famara and Ajaches. Throw the El Jable desert into the mix and you have one fascinating holiday destination!
With a wide choice of watersports, including scuba diving, parasailing and canoeing, you never run out of things to do. Adventurous types can enjoy a submarine trip or visit the Rancho Texas, a Wild West-themed park.
And don’t forget about the local cuisine, including unique mojo verde or picon sauces and papas arrugadas - a dish of cooked unpeeled potatoes cooked, baked dry afterwards and served with a mojo.
Whichever you choose from the range of Lanzarote’s apartments, hotels or resorts, Booking.com has over 330 properties to suit every taste.

Personally puerto del carmen isn’t for me as there are many more places to stay which are less touristy. If you are looking for lively, busy location not far from the airport this is a great location.Guest review bySandyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Playa Blanca is our favourite holiday destination!
Playa Blanca is our favourite holiday destination! We have been going for many years and have seen all the changes over the years! As we are getting older, we like to stay central, near to everything! We always have a hire car ( picked up from the airport when we arrive and dropped off when we return, which we highly recommend doing ) for going further afield !! We go to a variety of restaurants, there are so many good ones you can be spoiled for choice!Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This was our second year staying at a villa at playa roca, we have completely fallen in love with Costa Teguise for our family. We love the restaurants as they are a very good standard and the cost is also good. Definitely much cheaper than eating out in the UK. Love the evening entertainment with live singers in very spacious bars and the cost of cocktails are definitely half the price of UK prices. There is a beautiful walk around the resort where you have cyclists, e scooters , walkers and wheelchair users and it is lit in the evening. We have walked this at midnight and love the fact you never feel unsafe. There are lots of play areas for young children and it’s definitely a family oriented resort. They offer water sports at the beach like windsurfing and other water sports. The party people often tend to be in Puerto del carmen which keeps this resort so family friendly and safe.Guest review byKirstyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The church and restaurants are very close.
The church and restaurants are very close. La minoca restaurant is very good, prices and quality. The cooker Manny is the best, one of the owners is very gentil and cuban waitress are very diligents. Good vibe and environment over there. This restaurant is in San Gines Charco. Ask for a cuban "mojito" and you will remember me. Good luck.Guest review byzorymarUnited States - 10.0

Playa Honda is quiet, and more residential, full of lovely locals.... beautiful walks along the beach front, easy access to shops, buses, restaurants etc... not a lot of tourists, so you can appreciate the culture more. Just love it. We enjoy walking, so a nice 40 minute walk takes you into Arrecife, or you can get a bus into Costa Teguise or Matagorda, hire a bike and cycle along the path both ways.... La Opera, Goliath's, Bechamell restaurants are lovely, good prices and lots of choice. It really is a piece of heaven on earth in Playa Honda.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A small town with plenty of people around using the facilities for their daily life. Where we stayed in Yaiza was very quiet. A great location for a large group like ours but a must is to have a hire car to enable you to travel freely in and out of more lively areas around the island.Guest review byAlexandraUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I was there in early March, and it did feel a bit off-seasony and quiet. Some of the cafes I had wanted to try were closed until the end of March. Still, a small handful of good restaurants, and easy access by road to the other parts of the island, so it was a good base to explore from. I recommend Ikarus for fresh fish, Boutique del pan-San Rafael for coffee, and the Creperia for cheap/cheerful tapas and drinks outside with music. I found the locals all very friendly.Guest review byEricaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Tinajo is a peaceful and authentic Canarian village, perfect for travelers seeking tranquility away from tourist crowds. Surrounded by volcanic landscapes and close to Timanfaya National Park, it offers stunning views and a unique atmosphere. The locals are friendly, and the area is ideal for hiking, stargazing, and enjoying the natural beauty of Lanzarote. Just be prepared for early morning roosters — part of the rural charm!Guest review byAlojzyIreland
