FAQs about hotels on Tenerife
Fun and Sun All Year Round
The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has sun, sand and sangria all year round. Its landscape is dominated by volcanic Mount Teide, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose peak is covered by snow. There are fabulous views over Tenerife and the surrounding islands from the cable car that takes you up.
However, most visitors flock to the island for its beaches. The most exclusive area is Costa Adeje, home to most 5-star hotels in Tenerife. It also houses Aqualand waterpark with waterslides, pools and a dolphinarium, while next door Playa de las Americas boasts Siam Park – Europe’s largest waterpark.
This resort is the island’s party capital and features a large number of Tenerife hotels with swimming pools, and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Adjoining Los Cristianos also has a long, sandy beach.
The southern Tenerife beaches are actually artificial, made from white sand imported from the Sahara Desert, because the natural ones are black sand. Tenerife resorts with just such a beach include Puerto de la Cruz and Los Gigantes, which is dramatically sheltered by sheer cliffs.
The capital – Santa Cruz – is the arrival point for ferries from the other Canaries and has a huge, annual carnival. Wherever you decide to stay, check out the Tenerife hotel deals on Booking.com.

- From US$588.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,160 reviewsI cannot say enough good things about our stay. We were in a villa with jacuzzi & had a fantastic sleep every night thanks to the huge cloud soft bed & blackout blinds. The view from our terrace was fabulous. The room was very clean. The staff were all so friendly and we loved the little touches - a glass of bubbles on arrival, giving out watermelon by the pool etc. One thing I loved about this hotel is that unlike lots of other resorts, there were plenty of sun loungers so we didn’t feel like we had to compete for space. We loved the pool area, which felt like it was set in a garden - lots of trees and greenery etc and the cocktails from the pool bar are reasonably priced. We enjoyed the pools so much that we barely left the hotel. We were very impressed with the breakfast & had an enjoyable meal in the property’s Italian restaurant one night too. The location is a bit further out so we had a long walk or an e scooter ride to restaurants etc. The beach is a short walk down a big hill but that wasn’t a problem for us.Guest review byGraceUnited States
- From US$348.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 319 reviewsThe hotel is composed of different apartments which are fully equipped with all sort of things for cooking, sleeping and showering. The staff is very kind, professional, friendly and attentive. They also suggested us what to visit and helped us to book a car to visit the island. If you love quiet is the perfect place but if you want restaurants, surf schools, supermarkets or clubs you can find everything just outside. I recommend to include the breakfast as the choice of food is very wide and you’ll fall in love with the freshly made omelette! I’ll be staying there if I come back to Tenerife, the island of never ending summer!Guest review byFabsieDenmark
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 603 reviewsLiterally everything, they were caring, understanding, the room even as an adult was a damn room to die for, having autism being in a completely foreign county can and has been stressful but these people tried their absolute hardest to help in any way they can. Loved the roosters they had roaming but the girlfriend had the fun idea of feeding them from the balcony the first few days they ended up waking us up at 6am every morning for food 😂. Other than that I've stayed in 5* hotels that don't touch the surface on this place. Can't recommend more to go. If you got the option, go.Guest review byJordanChina

A great place as a base for a Tenerife tour if you want to stay in one place. If your visit extends for more than 4 days it might be more interesting to move closer to your sightseeing points (example: 3 nights in Santa Cruz, 3 in Puerto de la Cruz, 3 in Playa del Duque - that's what I would have done if I knew how much time I'd spend driving).Guest review byMiguelPortugal - 8.0

It's an okay beach, there is definitely more space in low season. Part of the beach has rocks on the beach and in the water, but the other part is much better. Also, there are much better beaches near by.Guest review bySerhii YukhnevychNetherlands - 10.0

Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife, almost everything was closed at 21:30-22:00 and there were no people outside either we were on the center of the town or near the plaza. BUT, The island in general is worth it. If you can get outside and go see other towns - villages, it is definitely worth it and be prepared for breathtaking sights, views and amazing monuments. There are a lot sightseeings worth visiting, but Santa Cruz de Tenerife on its own is just not worth it that much (and the parking there is literally impossible)Guest review bykostastsoukkGreece - 10.0

A pleasant area with good views and a lovely walk along the promenade We did a full day trip to the mountains in the centre of the island and up to the north coast. There were several good places to eat. Our favourite was Charly's just round the corner with good food and very good entertainment. It is pretty flat around the resort. The main walking areas are on the flat.Guest review byLinda VoceUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Situated in Golf Del Sur - it's pretty much an ex-pat community comprised mainly of the British. If you want nightlife, then this isn't the place for you. There are quite a few bars and restaurants around the place, but better to take a stroll down to San Blas or Los Abrigos for more options. It's one junction down from the airport, so if you don't like aircraft noise, then again, this isn't for you. It's peaceful, usually quite windy, which is good when it's hot!Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Puerto de Santiago is a very lovely and quiet town, perfect for those who prefer peaceful places over busy tourist spots. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay – shops, cafés, and all the essential amenities. I especially recommend Café Am Eck – a wonderful place with great atmosphere and delicious food. The Playa de la Arena beach is beautiful and well-maintained. Puerto de Santiago is located on the western coast of Tenerife, and that’s part of its magic – you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets as the sun slowly disappears into the ocean, with a stunning view of La Gomera island on the horizon.Guest review byLIUDMYLAUkraine - 10.0

The city consists of three parts. The historic part with beautiful and charming streets. The villa part with beautiful gardens, trees, houses, and the part where people live tightly and where the most is happening. Lots of street culture, lots of cultural attractions. Lots of opportunities for good food.Guest review byDariuszPoland - 8.0
