There was a lovely little table for dining, but the complimentary breakfast room was just outside our door on the main floor. Very interesting half day visiting US beaches and cemetery arranged through the Memorial Caen, also easy to get to Sword and the Commando Museum using public transport. Castle good to walk round. Honfleur is a gorgeous mediaeval fishing town that we have visited well over a dozen times. We never get tired of going back. There is always something to see and do. Amazing art galleries to look at, the small tourist train that takes you to all the main sites in Honfleur and it's environs. The replica William the Conquerors longship that is being built - a trip on the Seine to the Pont-d- Normandie. La Lieutenance, the harbour and the numerous cafes and restaurants, just walking through the old town/St Catherine Quarter (downhill always leads back to the old harbour - so you can't get lost!)Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I was in Deauville for the Bridge Festival, so chose the location for that reason. However, I would say that some of the restaurants in Deauville are not great value or quality and prefer to eat in Trouville where there is better choice and value in my opinion. It is all down to personal taste, obviously many wealthy Parisians and foreign visitors like to be in Deauville, for the beach and top hotels. Relative to Trouville it is quite smart, but Trouville is more lively and overall more interesting. Ouistreham is a ferry port - it is a small town, but a useful starting point for visiting attractions in the surrounding area. The Normandy landings beaches and sites that have associations with William the Conqueror are all easily reached from here. Looking online, Port-en-Bessin seemed a scenic little fishing port. Research showed lots of restaurants in close proximity of hotels. However visitors need to aware that almost the whole town closes on Sunday evenings and all of Monday making it difficult to find the ideal meal on those days.
