The location is awesome in the middle of the vineyards, close to wine producers. The breakfast was also very good. We had few times dinner in the hotel restaurant. Very delirious, but a reservation is needed.

We recently stayed at Château d’Étoges for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the impeccable hospitality and professionalism of the staff. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making us feel as though we had stepped into an episode of Downton Abbey. The champagne was exquisite, perfectly complementing the enchanting ambiance of the château. Both dining experiences exceeded our expectations. L’Orangerie provided a Michelin-star-worthy dinner that was a true culinary masterpiece, while the other restaurant offered equally remarkable cuisine with refined flavors and presentation. Breakfast was an experience in itself—abundant, fresh, and absolutely worth it. It provided the perfect start to our day, ensuring we were well-prepared for exploring the beautiful Champagne region. Very easy to find in the centre of a small village. There is plenty of free car parking available. The rooms are very large, clean, comfortable, well appointed and very quiet. The staff are lovely and speak reasonable English. The food in the restaurant is excellent and very good value for money. It is a good base to explore the Ardennes and is very, very popular with hunters.

    Lots of historical buildings, there’s a walking tour that’s well signed. A blend of old and modern. Small enough to walk in a day, there is a free bus that you can get on to take you round. Plenty of choices of places to eat & drink.

    Epernay is all about the champagne.

    Epernay is all about the champagne. Our visit included Sunday and Monday evenings and as a result we found it very difficult to book a decent restaurant due to many closing on those days. We would visit again but maybe towards the end of the week.

    Pleasant interesting town at which we had not previously stayed. The city centre has a calm atmosphere of its own. We did a tour of the Joseph Perrier Champagne house which was impressive. Vincent was a friendly and informative host.

    This city is charming, cheerful, and full of personality. The cafes, the grocery stores, the art expositions, the river, the churches, the children... I could live here. Charleville-Mezieres is like something out of a movie.

    The town is stunning.

    The town is stunning. Large yet every part of the old town is stunning and charming. I’m so glad I found this little gem. So many French towns are wonderful but quite “samey”. Langres really stands out from the crowd. Go have a look.

    we were just passsing through The food in the restaurant at the castle was not good-very basic despite the menu, tomato tart was stale and dessert not well presented or tasty service very slow Breakfast was poor- not much selection and poor quality. Small basket of tiny pastries, no tomato or cucumber No decaff coffee available Taps in basin were wobblyElectric socket in room did not work, paper cups for coffee- this was supposed to be 4 star Such a shame-- a beautiful hotel but poor attention to detail and food offerings

    Only a fleeting visit , love it because it is perfect for me en route to Italy in my car. Previous visits to St. Dizier were always good but never long enough to appreciate the town fully. Pleasant surroundings and ameneties.

    Chaumont is charming.

    Chaumont is charming. About 25 minutes drive to visit the Charles De Gaulle Memorial in Colombey Les Deux Eglise. I highly recommend a trip to the village to enjoy the memorial and local champagne house. Chaumont has friendly locals and delicious food.
