Perfect place to discover a beautiful yet less frequently visited area of the Haute Savoie, located between the bustle of Annecy and Chambery. Great restaurant. Bright fresh single room on the corner with fantastic views. And last but certainly not least, the owners were always friendly despite working very long hours due to staff being unwell. Really keen to return again!

Even before our arrival, the team at Petit Hôtel Confidentiel impressed us with their attention to detail. They carefully considered our wishes for the stay, and on the very day of our arrival, the receptionist personally contacted us to confirm our arrival time — a thoughtful gesture that immediately set the tone for what was to come. From that moment on, our large family was treated with an extraordinary level of attention that truly set our stay apart. Despite traveling as a big group, we never felt like “just another reservation” — the staff anticipated our needs and took care of every single detail as if they knew us personally. Their personalized service felt like something out of a dream: seamless room service that turned our evenings into cozy, candlelit moments, perfectly presented with glassware and cloches; attentive concierge support that helped craft delightful outings and surprises for our kids; and thoughtful room setup that made every one of us feel seen and valued. It was this heartfelt, family-centered approach that turned our trip into something memorable. The hotel’s amenities elevated our experience further: relaxing swims in the indoor pool, rejuvenation in the steam room and sauna, indulgent moments in the SpaSuite, and invigorating visits to the fitness studio — all crafted with care and accessible at just the right times for our family’s rhythm. What impressed us most was how the staff seemingly anticipated small wishes before we even voiced them — a fresh snack for the little ones, a seamlessly arranged transfer, or a timely surprise that made the children’s faces light up. It’s rare to find a place where every interaction feels genuine and warm, and Petit Hôtel Confidentiel is firmly in that category. To the entire team: thank you for turning our family getaway into a deeply considerate, beautifully curated experience. Your commitment to exceptional service and heartfelt care made our stay not just luxurious, but truly unforgettable.

The breakfast buffet was fabulous. Lots of choices everything very fresh. The bread and smoked salmon especially good! The location was lovely in a beautiful atrium. As the restaurant was closed on the night we were there we ate in the bar and the service was superb. The food was lovely small plates of charcuterie for example. The welcome from the staff and their fantastic customer service was amazing from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We had taken our dog with us and they even checked in that we had everything we needed for her stay and she'd been comfortable. The spa was very nice, particularly the sauna and jacuzzi.

The apartment is great - spacious, clean and well equipped. The real condition is the same as on pictures. The 2 bedroom apartment is very comfortable for a family with 2 kids. It was good that the refrigerator was big enough and there was a dishwasher. The hallway and storage room at the entry guarantees that the apartment is clean. Second toilet at the entry of the apartment is also a good option. We liked the heating system when you can adjust the temperature in each room at your convenience. The houses are located in a way that you do not need to cross the road or parking area (which is close), but go directly to the ski area. The location is great - everything is at arms length - ski-lifts, cross-country ski track, snow sleds track, equipment rental, grocery, automatic laundry.

We were a family of 18 in three rooms with young children. The situation of the rooms that we were given on one floor and close together was ideal. It meant any noise didn’t annoy other guests. The size of the 6/8 bed room meant we could all eat together in the evening. The swimming pool/spa area made the holiday extra special. Bread etc can be delivered to your door. Also the staff seemed super relaxed and happy to help.

Interesting town with cultural heritage.

Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.

Aix-les-Bains is a very pleasant town on the shores of the biggest lake in France: Lake Bouget. There are lots of restaurants and places to visit including a Casino, mountains and water sports. If you can, we recommend you try the boat cruse around the lake and include a meal on board.

The apartment is very accommodating.

The apartment is very accommodating. We spent a lot of time there as there was a heat wave and with four people it was just right. It has a good kitchen and two bathrooms so nobody got in each others way. Very close to the centre of Bourg and close to restaurants in the area. We will have no trouble booking again if we are in that area. As there was only four people in our group it was great but it says it is for eight people and that would be a squeeze as there are bunk beds in some rooms. Otherwise thank you for making it a nice place to stay and my transporter fitted in the underground car park with no trouble. definitely recommend as all the people in my group would.

It's a very nice little town.

It's a very nice little town. I was mainly for cycling, there are plenty of options nearby. I loved the place for that. I will go back next year. We ate kebabs and pizza in the surrounding restaurants, and sometimes we cooked in the apartment. We did not use public transport, or traveled by car or bicycle. There is a kebab place two corners down, the maxi tacos, you have to try them, they are very delicious.

Brides is a lovely little centre for those who want an attractive location to take leisurely walks in the park and sit and watch the world go by from a shady cafe. We felt as if were part of a real community, going to the boulangerie for cakes in late afternoon and chatting to visitors at the cafes. If we had known how to play belote (a French card game) we would have been welcomed into games taking place in the park. The visitors are mainly aged 50+, many of whom are visiting the town for its thermal cure and well being activities. Getting to the mountains without a car was a challenge as the buses are infrequent and only early in the day. The telecabin to Meribel only runs on Sundays. The effort to get to the mountain villages was well worth the effort. If you want to visit the Three Valleys and have a sense of French life and culture, Brides is the perfect location.

I lived in Chambery for a year 20 years ago. It is the ideal blend of bigger town conveniences and smaller town authenticity. At first drive or walk through, you might think “pass”. But if you get out and start to walk around the central heart of town and also realize the history here, you discover Chambery’s charm.

The Lac is a big draw for us on holiday but the lovely park, busy town centre and friendly people make it a home away from home. It’s almost like a two centre holiday. Transport routes are great with regular local buses and a great number of trains to go further afield - Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy, Paris and even Geneva to name a few.

Great for cheaper and more spacious accommodation and ten minute trip up the hill in the regular funicular to get to Arc 1600. Saves a 50 minute car drive, especially if snowy or time is key. Though usually no snow itself in Bourg. Pretty old town and a functional new town on parallel street. Big supermarkets for stocking up.

Perfect town to base yourself for cycling many bucket list climbs though a car is handy to drive to Aple d'Huez and Bessens for other climbs. Still don't get why France shuts down from 12.30 on a Sunday as there are so many good restaurants but not opened when really needed. We really rate the local Indochina restaurant - food superb and cheap.
