- From $267.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 168 reviewsThe cottage was amazing and the facilities were a great addition. The view was outstanding, watching the sun rise every morning from the cottage window was beautiful. Having access to the spa and pool after a day of exploring helped us to relax and unwind. The children loved having their own upstairs space along with all the outside space for playing and running around.Guest review bykateUnited Kingdom
- From $127.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 803 reviewsThe staff were very friendly and helpful from the start. My husband was on crutches and the room we had been given was at the top of the building. The young man immediately said he would see if we could have a room with less stairs. This was sorted quickly. The room was spacious and spotless, with a very comfy bed. Breakfast good.Guest review bySarah HugginsUnited Kingdom

Brecon is a great little centre for walking with a nice atmosphere and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. We live an hours drive away but it is really nice to book for a weekend away and to explore the area, the weather isn’t always kind so staying in Brecon provides for alternatives if necessary.Guest review byDawnUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Merthyr itself is a bit of a depressing town.
Merthyr itself is a bit of a depressing town. Lots of empty shops. A nice restaurant near the train station, Casa Bianca. A good shopping centre just outside the main town with a big M&S, a big Boots, Next, TK Max, etc. Merthyr has good roads and it's easy to get to Brecon, Swansea and Cardiff from there.Guest review byDeborahUnited Kingdom - 10

The purpose of our visit was to see a show at the Borough Theatre. Hence we only stayed one night. We live in Bristol so Abergavenny is not far. However we decided to stay over and have a meal rather than driving back after the show. The Theatre was good and we would visit again. We had dinner at the Anatolian restaurant which was excellent. I know Turkish food and it was good. We would consider visiting again and staying over to do some walking or seeing the sites.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 10

It is a beautiful little village set in a very picturesque area, our stop was just overnight after a trip to a dog show in Builth Wells, but it was very enjoyable and we will return again next year and maybe explore some more.Guest review byShirkeiraUnited Kingdom - 10

Hay was one of our favourite places My husband is an avid book reader, collector. In past years he usually found what he would call a little bit of treasure from one of the many bookshops but he was disappointed at how expensive the books were. The town is still delightful and pleasurable to walk around.Guest review byLizUnited Kingdom - 10

I don't travel too far from the property, as I am happy with the local context, but if you like travelling out, then there is lots on locally and further out of Llandovery. Lots of stillness, peace and enjoying the natural world. Due to allergies, cooking facilities in the property make it really easy for eating in. Solo and families can enjoy lots of walks. A scattering of independent shops and pubs to enjoy.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It was a good centre for visiting Carmarthenshire, the Gower or the Brecon Beacons. Lots of castles and gardens nearby. Lots of places within about an hour. There were some independent shops in the town, and some nice bars and lunch places, but the Cawdor was the best choice in the eveningGuest review byFrancesUnited Kingdom - 6.0
A convenient place to stay, but nothing special.
A convenient place to stay, but nothing special. There were a few good places to eat, but it was just an ordinary town. Still, it was cheap and the day after my stay it gave me easy access to the Brecon Beacon National Park.Guest review byPhilippaAustralia - 10

Glasbury village is only a few minutes drive south from Hay on Wye in beautiful countryside an right by the river. The Harp Inn is a great place to stay, it's a pub full of character and you get a very warm welcome from the owners. The facilities and food are brilliant and excellent value for money. We will certainly make a return visit next time we are in the area.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom
