+Great, spacious room in high standard with comfortable bed. +Supportive and helpful staff. +The view wasn't the greatest, as the hotel on the other side was covering some part of lovely Cairngorms landscape, but overall, the location, the quality of the room was exceeding expectations. If I'll reach Aviemore once again, I will definitely book the place once again!

The town is small, peaceful and quiet but a tourist attraction (mainly holiday goers) so it had all the services and facilities we needed. It’s also in the middle of the highlands, with many, many activities, attractions and beautiful nature all around. It’s also a few hours drive from other Highland locations, such as Loch Ness, Fort William, Inverness, Glencoe, Isle of Skye (which we didn’t visit because it’s 3 hours away and I had little kids). We stayed for a week in Aviemore but we could have stayed more since everyday was filled with activity and interesting things to do.

Excellent site. The pod was perfect with a fridge, kettle and microwave. Site was immaculate. The toilet block and shower rooms were very well kept. There are loads of activities on and off site for families or individuals do do. We were sorry that we were only staying one night. This site is so good that a longer stay is warranted to see and do everything.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the staff are super friendly and helpful, there’s a good restaurant on site, rooms were spacious and there’s plenty of parking. The chalet was lovely, comfortable and well-equipped and the outdoor hot tub and view of the lake were fantastic. We walked in the on-site woods and our granddaughter loved the huge playgrounds. It was too cold (for us) to swim but the lake and its facilities looked great.

I love this neck of the woods.

I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended. If the weather is not so good there are plenty of lovely places you can drive to within 45 minutes.

Kingussie is ideal for people who want beautiful walks or a bit of climbing or cycling. There’s a fantastic bike shop called Bothy Bikes where you can hire e- bikes to explore the area. Boat of Garten is a small village which has some good features and services, including a pub, a village store, pizza shop, art gallery and historic railway station. It is well located in relation to forest walks and other outdoor activities. For any significant shopping you needs to travel nearby Aviemore, 4.5 miles away. Nestled amongst the mountains with paths and tracks leading all over what’s not to like? Sadly, the general facilities here have gone. No shop for example. One place did have a sign out for coffee, but there could be an opportunity here for someone. Worth climbing up the Cateran Trail heading south to get stunning views looking down on the village. Also visit the stone circle, old bridge and the church. Just soak up the atmosphere!

Very disappointing stay. Staff were rude and unhelpful - especially at breakfast. Dining staff Bella’s behaviour was shockingly unprofessional and not acceptable. Dirty, smelly rooms, one with a broken bed. Complaints were brushed off with a simple “sorry.” We booked 4 rooms for family visiting from Canada and deeply regret choosing this hotel. Definitely not worth the 4-star rating.
