What a lovely place to stay! Thank you for being so welcoming What made this place stand out were the owners - it's the little things like knowing our names (in fact all the guest names), taking time to answer questions about the area and showing a genuine warmth for your guests. You made us feel right at home!

Pristine landscape next to the stream gives classic views of highland scenery. The railway line is adjacent but occasional passing trains are unobtrusive to the atmosphere of the overall quiet ambiance. The hosts are eager to help with traveling advice and suggestions. They are accommodating for personal preferences of the excellent meals they offer. The excellent dinner meals are offered for travelers' convenience to save the effort to drive further to reach the sparse restaurants in the isolated highland region. This is an excellent choice for a room for those wanting a quiet comfortable place for retreat. Ideally situated for travelers by car, foot or cycle.

The location is just perfect. 2 minute drive to Morlich beach, 15 drive to Cairgorm mountain resort(ski resort) 2 minute drive to reindeer experience and 4 minutes drive to Aviemore village Driving into the site I was awed by the backdrop of snowy mountains. Our first night we met a family using the bbq area make sure to ask about this. You can light your own fire too. Im a keen photographer and captured some lovely night time photography even a glimpse of the northern lights via camera. So one very happy costumer here. We will most definitely be back. Thanks so so much Badaguish forest lodges.

From the moment you arrive, the hosts greet you with a big smile and a chat. You feel like you have arrived home. We cannot fault this place, from the rooms right through to the (much too big) breakfast which is made for you personally. If we ever come back to Aviemore we will put this place as number 1 on our list and stay in the pods, for sure.

I love this neck of the woods.

I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended. If the weather is not so good there are plenty of lovely places you can drive to within 45 minutes.

Kingussie is ideal for people who want beautiful walks or a bit of climbing or cycling. There’s a fantastic bike shop called Bothy Bikes where you can hire e- bikes to explore the area. Boat of Garten is a small village which has some good features and services, including a pub, a village store, pizza shop, art gallery and historic railway station. It is well located in relation to forest walks and other outdoor activities. For any significant shopping you needs to travel nearby Aviemore, 4.5 miles away. Nestled amongst the mountains with paths and tracks leading all over what’s not to like? Sadly, the general facilities here have gone. No shop for example. One place did have a sign out for coffee, but there could be an opportunity here for someone. Worth climbing up the Cateran Trail heading south to get stunning views looking down on the village. Also visit the stone circle, old bridge and the church. Just soak up the atmosphere!

Very disappointing stay. Staff were rude and unhelpful - especially at breakfast. Dining staff Bella’s behaviour was shockingly unprofessional and not acceptable. Dirty, smelly rooms, one with a broken bed. Complaints were brushed off with a simple “sorry.” We booked 4 rooms for family visiting from Canada and deeply regret choosing this hotel. Definitely not worth the 4-star rating.
