The room was big and well appointed, very comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and happy to help. The breakfast and evening meal were both delicious and the bar/restaurant made for a cosy retreat from the grey, February weather.

Location was fabulous, overlooking the estuary with the rising hills dotted with sheep behind the pool house. As a vegan the breakfast was adequate. The bread wasn't great. Used to sourdough not pre sliced white bread. Tofu scramble would have been nice. The tea was good and there was my preferred plant based milk.

The Cathedral is worth a visit, and the tour guide gave us a lot of information. On Sunday, the visit is by donation, and comes with a guided tour as well. On any other day, I would happily have paid more for both. The Exeter Underground Passages tour is also worth a look. Everyone has to duck, though. Traffic was slow and difficult downtown, we were glad we walked there when we could
