- From $535.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 247 reviewsWe have stayed at Port lympne mansion four times now. Each time we have had different rooms and all of them were outstanding. How many hotels have a fabulous zoo on the door step, acres of stately gardens to wander around, and a golf buggy to use, all for no extra cost . Probably the best hotel breakfast we have ever had and it is waiter service and freshly cooked to your own wishes . This was also included in the price of the stay. There are several on-site restaurants, bars and cafes. Initially the room may seem a little pricey, but when you think about how much you get for it , there is a lot of value .Guest review byCookeUnited Kingdom
- From $282.08 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 839 reviewsWe absolutely loved our balcony room overlooking the beach. The bed was very large and very comfortable. The staff were all really kind and accommodating. The bar area by the fireplace is super cozy, and we snagged the couch by the fire the two evenings we were there. The breakfast was delicious and portions are generous. The hotel is ideally located right by the beach and the town of Deal. We will definitely be back!Guest review byPerryUnited Kingdom

I came to a gathering of the Cathedral Music Trust.
I came to a gathering of the Cathedral Music Trust. The Cathedral could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Great range of music. Canterbury is very user friendly: huge choice of places to eat and drink and at reasonable prices. Lots and lots of history - the cradle of English Christianity. Everything is within a reasonable if not easy walking distance huge variety of early and later buildings: a living book on English architecture. Seething with humanity and vitality given the student population and closeness to continent. Note the prairy planting in the cathedral close. Good sign posting and information boards.Guest review byBradley - 8.0

We visited Capel le Ferne the Battle of Britain Memorial on the 104 bus route. We explored the harbour and walked right to the end where the small lighthouse bar is (not open as weather was a bit stormy). We visited St. Peter's Church where husband's parents were married. Went around the town exploring shops. We walked up the zig zag path on the L:eas and spent the day at the Annual Train Fair in the theatre overlooking the sea. Looking forward to returning when the Road of Remembrance is re-opened (disappointed it is still closed) and the cliff tram - hurry up and get it started again! Please don't build flats on the sea front - keep Folkestone sea front beautiful as it always has been. Congratulations on the restoration of the old platform on the harbour - it looks great and the small railway carriages serving food in summer. Looking forward to coming back for all the improvemnets!Guest review byRosemarieUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Townscape is quite tired and run down making it feel a bit unsafe around the edges. Sad because there are remnants of what would have been a lovely location. Francos in the shopping centre does a lovely breakfast! Italian restaurant Vesuvius in Lower Stone Street does lovely food too ..Guest review byTinaUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Ashford Town is a complete dump it lets down Ashford.
Ashford Town is a complete dump it lets down Ashford. It felt really depressing just walking through it.Hardly any shops in the town. The Ashford outlet is amazing but designer shops are not what everyone wants. Lovely parks around. Bowling is good. Shame the Ashford International is not open.Guest review byJudyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Good choice of shops and restaurants.
Good choice of shops and restaurants. Good transport links if no car, i.e. regular buses for local trips or nearby towns including Hastings and Tunbridge and Railway Station (Hastings an hour away by train). Worth a visit to Museum and Art Gallery. Lovely parks including Calverley Park - easily accessible from town (walking) for a coffee or ice cream! Enjoy!!Guest review byAudreyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Dover Castle was lots of fun and was well organized for visitors of all ages. The war tunnels on the other hand were poorly organized and should be reorganized in order to help make them more interesting. The films on the walls explaining the historical events were difficult to understand due to the echo. The significance of the tunnels could be made more hands on for the younger generation to grasp. The Cliffs of Dover- easily a days experience and excellent hike and picnic opportunities along the way.Guest review byEllenIsrael - 6.0
The room itself was clean and tidy.
The room itself was clean and tidy. Once in the room found the tv wouldn't work properly and bought the staff up and they couldn't get it to work either. The onsite restaurant was under renovation so no dinner or Breakfast though there was an eatery next door bar one and the food was lovely thereGuest review byJimmy CUnited Kingdom - 6.0
I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns...
I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns with many derelict buildings. The most impressive building in the town is the Sikh Temple. The town is very busy with traffic but is fairly easy to navigate around. We stayed in a very pleasant guest house outside of town which was perfect for going to Leo's Music Venue. This is the only reason we came to Gravesend. We ate at The Three Daws pub which has been pretty good on both times we visited. Traditional British Pub with a good British Menu. We had breakfast at The Hot Rod American Diner in Northfleet which again was very good!Guest review byFlotsam & JetsamUnited Kingdom - 10.0
I love the variety of independent shops.
I love the variety of independent shops. The seafront, harbour area and little streets are really interesting. I swam in the sea and enjoyed restful hours on the beach. The vintage stores, charity shops and clothes shops are friendly and welcoming and I bought some nice gifts for friends and for myself. Windy Corner Stores does a great breakfast and coffee. The Whitstable Oyster restaurant was fantastic. Ossie's fish and chips were very good. It is so easy to get around Whitstable and I also got the bus into Canterbury one day for shopping and sightseeing.Guest review bySylviaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We attended for an event.
We attended for an event. The accommodation was perfect as near to the beach as we could get. I enjoyed watching various vessels with binoculars from the top floor of our accommodation. There was plenty of places to eat and we loved eating in the wonderful outdoor places before the Harbour Arm. The scenery was beautiful and everyone was very accommodating. I would love to go again but stay longer. We didn't travel really once there as there was everything we wanted where we were within walking distance.Guest review bySusan
