Very nice accomodation with a busy restaurant (at evenings) but very tasty local cuisine. Our room was spacious, enough for a 2+2 family. The owner and all staff was very nice, there is a small "farm" with a children playground - appreciated. Breakfasts were nice and tasty.

This is our second visit to The Bridge House, so we obviously like it a lot. The accommodations are beautiful, the food excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is nestled at the base of the woods, so the views and walks are amazing!! Grab a drink, sit outside near the babbling brook and picturesque bridge, as you see Alton Castle above.

What an amazing little pub hotel. Spotlessly clean, incredibly designed and so so comfortable. This was a gem of a find in the Peaks District and right down the street from adorable Bakewell. The breakfast was delicious (the black pudding!) and our stay couldn't have been better. Will stay here again the next chance we get.

The staff were really friendly from the moment we got there until the moment we left! The room was lovely, clean, tidy, well stocked and equipped.     For over 60 years I have found the people of Sheffield the most welcoming population for my many enquiries over that time regarding 'where' places are in and around the city centre and the wider area and how to find them. Not only are they very helpful and welcoming BUT the number of residents who have offered to take me to a point where I could either see my destination OR see a significant landmark to reach/find my destination. It happened again this weekend - it always happpens and they are so reliable in their efforts, their care for people, it seems to come naturally to them to make visitors welcome ... notable and remarkable. Well done people of Sheffield and THANK YOU. The Bus Station/Interchange staff are similarly extremely helpful ... nothing is too much trouble. THANK YOU. My OAP Bus Pass/ENCTS Pass qualifies me for free travel on the Sheffield Trams but I live in the outskirts of Greater Manchester = TfGM area. Another 'plus' to add to the attraction of Sheffield. THANK YOU, Sheffield. This weekend, I explored the woderful Sheffield Round and today enjoyed Porter Valley in the glorious sunshine of the first day of Autumn - excellent cafe and staff and facilites at Forge Dam - I thoroughly recommend. THANK YOU to everybody at Forge Dam.

    Lots to do - food good at Chakra Lounge and Simply Thai. Lovely buildings to visit - the Park, Theatre and Opera House brilliant. Close to Manchester with short train journey which we used to visit was an added bonus. Great for families and couples alike.

    Not wheelchair friendly. Car parks a nightmare, app payment or cash did not have either so we are now waiting Not many cafes with street seating that we could find Not enough public toilets or disabled access to shops

    We had an amazing three night stay - the weather was 30degC...

    We had an amazing three night stay - the weather was 30degC and more every single day. The staff at the hotel were absolutely spot on - really helpful, very friendly and happy to chat. The pool is amazing and it was great to see how popular it is. Great walking routes from the hotel as well and a good bus service - we dined in Matlock one night. Quite handy for Donington Park too. We went to wee the world superbikes on the Sunday. A perfect weekend.

    The Silk Museum is fantastic!

    The Silk Museum is fantastic! Wonderful building, museum exhibits, and additionall tour of the silk mill. Very knowledgeable and engaging guide brought the experience and history to life. Could have spent much longer and will definitely return.

    Not keen on Wombwell main area but a train away from Pennistone, lovely walk to nearby village of Hemmingfield for a canal walk and a nice pub of The Elephant & Castle also a nice fishing lake walk 2 mins from this cottage

    The Castle is in the centre of Bakewell so very convenient for exploring locally. Chatsworth House is only a few miles away and a great day out. As evening meals are served in the pub, guests can choose to eat in the welcoming atmosphere, but eating fish and chips on a seat by the river is just as romantic!

    Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Nearest train-station is at Hope which is a little over a mile's walk. Views of Mam Tor and sorrounding cliffs are amzingly breathtaking from this town.

    Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct towering overhead makes for a very unusual and intriguing town. Also most interesting are the timber frame houses one finds from Tudor times. Lots of pubs and not generic ones either.

    Ashbourne’s a lovely town.

    Ashbourne’s a lovely town. I stayed at The George and Dragon in the Market Square which is a great location, in the middle of town with good shops, pubs and eateries nearby. There are major works going on all around town at the mo (Sept 2025) due to end at the end of October which will make it even better. There’s also a lovely Memorial Park just a few minutes from the centre, well worth a visit. I was here on my own for a local race but will certainly return with my wife, I know she’ll love it here.
