- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 634 reviewsWhen I booked I was not aware it was such an important place, I liked the old typical pub look in the photos and the modern rooms and parking available on the back. While there I realised it was a reference place for local weddings, and was even a movie setting for famous films. Amersham is a very nice place, and on the edge of London and one hour away by tube.Guest review byJorgePortugal

Beaconsfield is a lovely small village which we enjoyed walking through with its own independent shops and restaurants. We then drove to Bourne End Marina which is the head of the River Thames and is stunning. Finally stopped at Marlow around lunchtime and was very impressed with this town, fab shops, restaurants and bars.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0
We did not see a lot of the town, which has a long history.
We did not see a lot of the town, which has a long history. There are some interesting and beautiful places to visit within easy reach: National Trust places to recommend are Hughenden Manor, Cliveden, and Greys Court. Other places are The Chiltern Hills, the Coombe Hill Monument, The Hell-Fire Caves and many more. The town has a good museum, and parks, and is not far from beautiful spots on the Thames such as Henley, Marlow, Maidenhead etc. And the walking around is on well-marked paths.Guest review byMalcolmUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Glad we could walk around town, traffic very heavy and even gridlock one day, burst main I believe. Lovely little market on Thursday morning. Loved it, will go back to book festival next year, amazing number of events/authors.Guest review byjaneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Quiet, quintessential Englishness to the town.
Quiet, quintessential Englishness to the town. Holds great memories for me as I grew up here. Historic and set in beautiful countryside and with easy access to the new town where there is a well laid out plethora of shops, cafes, restaurants and other services for you to explore and enjoy. If you enjoy a hike into the rural surroundings then there are plenty of options too.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

I didn't leave the hotel for 2.5 days as it was so pleasant and I had prior commitments to fulfil, via computer. There is WiFi at Five Bells but it was a bit erratic in my room. That wouldn't stop me staying there again; I'd just make sure my online commitments were carried out before going there.Guest review byViduboUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Not a stranger to Berko, born and bred.
Not a stranger to Berko, born and bred. All antique shops and estate agents when I was growing up now full of restaurants and coffee shops which is very nice when visiting. Canal side pubs great. Castle worth a visit.Guest review bySheilaUnited Kingdom
