This establishment is phenomenal, the staff, the comfort(bed, pillows, linen, bathroom), the quietness, the breakfast and lunch, the pool and last but not least the location which is very central and less then 15 minutes by scooter from most attractions & restaurants. Their recommended restaurants, beach clubs and beaches are absolutely amazing and was very helpful for us to have a peaceful vacation! We will definitely be back! A big thank you to the staff who knows how to make this place memorable!

Fantastic boutique hotel located near the beaches in Uluwatu. Felt very modern and new. Staff really friendly. Breakfast was good with a nice array of options. Pool area is well maintained and felt very relaxing! The main lookout spot around Single Fin area is only a 10 minute walk, so location felt great. Thomas Beach is also nearby.

The place literally lives up to it's name. It really is an escape. It is placed in a rural area, far away form traffic, noise and crowds. We had a King Deluxe Suite and it lived to our expectations. Amazing view of the pool and ocean. I recommend getting this instead of the standard rooms if you want more privacy because those are at pool level. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Room service was fast and perfect. Totally recommend if you want to spend a few days away from crowds.

Our stay at Terra Cottages was wonderful. The location (which we thought was the best area in Ulu), the breakfast especially the fresh orange juice and the welcoming and kind staff. Do take the long stairs down to Bingin beach and enjoy a nice open fire bbq dinner by the beach.

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.

Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water.     Everything was excellent - service, the workers, the room, facilities. Beautiful natural springs. Beautiful design of the whole property overall - all outside and natural which is a different experience. Worth the money. Breakfast was great (included with the stay and decent selection. I had the Bubur/porridge). The juice selections were great. I personally like that they provide bathrobe in our rooms, we wore it during our morning walk. the Bathroom was outside (open space). The tab water is filtered and drinkable. They provide free local beer, kombucha, local snacks in our rooms. We stayed at Olera and Orin house - just be aware that there is no soundproof between first and second floor, however, with the AC on, the white noise blocked most quite noises, except if something is dropped on the floor and when my friends walked around which is completely normal. Just for awareness, due the location being outside, there will be mosquitoes but that's just how it is with open concept property. Again we're here for the nature/outside experience!

    Seminyak is such a relaxing and vibrant place — great beaches, lovely cafes, and a calm atmosphere that makes it perfect for unwinding. The local people are friendly, and there are plenty of nice spots to enjoy good food and sunsets. However, it was disappointing to see quite a bit of rubbish around the area, especially near the beach and streets. It would be even more amazing if the cleanliness could be improved, as the place truly deserves it.

    Uluwatu is much more expensive and luxury compared to the rest of Bali. The place is under a massive construction renovation, there are construction site everywhere so it will be very different in a couple of years. We enjoyed our 4 days there but there is definetly less activities except for luxurious cliff restaurant and beach clubs.

Due to traffic, it can be a hectic drive from the airport, but in my opinion with the challenges of getting there. Additionally, Sanur is near the ferry dock for access to offshore islands (Nusa Penida and the Gili islands). If departing to go to the airport, leave plenty of time for the drive to the airport and it may be a lot longer than planned,

    Unfortunately , NP seems to have far too many visitors for what the road infrastructure can handle . The roads to all the local sightseeing hotspots are not wide enough for oncoming vehicle to pass each other without driving on the shoulder of the road ( if it exists ) and constantly causing further damage ,. The roads surfaced are very badly broken a terribly pot- holed . Vehicle journeys to the popular destinations take an inordinately long time with traffic banked up while cars try to pass each other when they can . On the plus ; the restaurants and beach clubs and bars serve excellent food and live music nightly was easy to find . And entertaining . The coastline scenery is fantastic . Itis why so many people make trip . The fast ferry services from Sanur to NP are very good and only 30 minutes .

    We liked the central location in Legian.

    We liked the central location in Legian. Hawkers should not attend hotel, this is rest time from shopping and bartering. Pad on Bene was our favourite place to eat anytime. Good food.Fat Tony’s burgers great. Water BOM amazing, our son went 4 times during our stay with great water slides. Traffic congestion to Changu and Ubud was horrendous. Took 2 hours for such a small distance.

    Love at first sight ten years ago.

    Love at first sight ten years ago. Far away from all huzzle and buzz of Southern Bali, Kuta/ Seminyak, Denpasar-areas that were surprisingly flooded this very time. so we were away from rain and catastrophies, happily exploring the new roads, watching Saraswati processions, eating us through the islands many warungs and resturants. Really cosy and fun stay, Dream bech is a must-do!

    Nusa dua was too isolated for family fun with young kids . We had divided our stay in Symniak and nusa but nusa was too far for evening life , food and fun activities for kids . We enjoyed Kuta and symniak area far more with lots to do for kids .
