We love the locations pleasant grounds but within easy walk of the town centre. There is an excellent restaurant in the hotel. The breakfast is pretty much standard fare. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Recently renovated and refurbished to an absolutely amazing standard. This place is awesome. Decor, facilities, food and especially the staff — all awesome. You won’t find better in the world’s best 5 or 7 star hotels. Special mention for Omar whom we met on arrival and again at breakfast. Only recently started his job this young man just has “it” …. An exceptionally personable and authentic individual without ever being intrusive. And the food - dinner and breakfast - stunningly delicious and beautifully presented without being fussy.

The Carrick Gate is just an all round great place. Located on the river right in town. So clean, newly refurbished, comfortable and excellent Continental breakfast with loads of choices. We were the only ones there being winter so it was lovely and quiet. We booked late and had a bit of delay making phone contact for the key, but that was fixed up quickly for us. Thank you Jessica for your attention, advice and cheer. Eva.

Food was amazing (bar, restaurant and breakfast). A good variety at breakfast buffet and a chef to make extra stuff request. Dinner at the restaurant was also very good. Food tasted brilliant and great service. Place had a reasobably large grounds to explore. Car is better to explore nearby areas. The lough nearby was good (saw some people kayaking there) but not sure if we could have taken a boat there.

Great location. Clean bright hotel, which had a dinning room and Bistro. We ate in the Bistro for dinner and breakfast was served in dining room. Breakfast had a good range to choose from. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. Our room was overly big but it had all we needed in it. Bathroom was spotless. Plenty of towels etc. would definitely visit again.

Bundoran ,being a seaside and holiday destination thrives during the summer. You could meet anyone from anywhere here. But most importantly all are made to feel so welcome by the general community not just the hoteliers and gift shop owners. I accidentally left my rear passenger door actually open all night outside the Bank House and not a thing was touched!!! This coming from someone who has been a victim of a locked car theft in my own driveway in Loughlinstown Co Dublin….

Nice town, friendly people, some great traditional town centre pubs, although some of which don't sell food, Swan park and the river walk are beautiful and interesting, even in the rain, nice coastal footpath heading north out of town, with small and quiet sandy coves.

The spa was the best. Booking treatments before hand is needed but the facial was amazing as were the massages. The food was lovely in the hotel restaurant, we were not disappointed. We might have done a better job at researching what boat or land tours would be available. We had hoped to take a boa trip under Slieve Liege cliffas and maybe a day tour to Gleneveagh National Park or Inishowen. There was a small tourist info building, but it did not open until Monday. The helpful man behind the counter seemed to indicate that once the last cruise ship visit of the season was gone, things quieted down quite a bit. It was rainy and windy most of the time. We did take a local link bus out to Glencolumbkill; weather was damp and windy, but we enjoyed the ride and had a nice lunch at a cafe, and got some business done at the post office. So the stay was a little disappointing, but, as I said, we might have done a little more research before we went. We did meet some great locals waiting for the bus, etc. and had some great chats. Our first 8 days in Ireland, travelling with family who could only stay 7 nights was a smashing success!! We have all visited Ireland several times, at least.
