SloveniaThe hotel staff went above and beyond. I got a free upgrade into a chalet with a beautiful sea view. The pan fried sea bass I had for dinner was amazing. Everything was spotlessly clean and all the staff were great, particularly Joanna on reception who arranged for my phone charger to be put on the ferry to the mainland, after I left it in my room, and the hotel manager who took it down to the ferry port. Cannot fault this hotel, highly recommended.

IrelandI loved that the property was beach front! It was so relaxing waking up next to the water. The sauna was a great touch, we used it both days and it was such a treat! Also the sunrise is absolutely amazing from the property.

FranceSokha and Kevin are truly super hosts. Port Aran House is one of the island jewels for sure. The help-yourself breakfast is amazing . It’s close to town and a nearby good restaurant. We came on the afternoon ferry and immediately rented a couple of bikes for the afternoon from Aran Bike Hire who took our bags to PAH. Kevin arranged for us with luggage to get to the ferry. A magical visit.

They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, provide us with information, transportation, breakfast and lots of things to check out on the island! I can’t say enough about how amazing the location is for walkable sights and clean facilities. We felt so loved and taken care of just like coming home to family!

United StatesWonderful place to stay. We were two couples the downstairs room was tiny so the bed was a full but I slept great. The whole house is lovely and clean. The view is stunning. I was concerned because we had a later ferry and didn’t have time to run to the market and we were pleasantly surprised to have fresh bread milk and eggs to make breakfast with. I will try to stay here on my next visit. We all loved having space to hang out and enjoy our trip.

Such a beautiful island.
Such a beautiful island. Peace, nature, wildlife, beautiful hand knitted aran jumpers in the shops, good food and friendly local people. There are horses and carts that will take you round the island. What a way to travel! Loved my time there.Guest review byJacquelineSlovenia - 8.0

Excellent property and fantastic hosts. Great communication when I had an email query. Lovely extras like milk and bread in the fridge when we arrived. Absolutely spotless property and very well equipped. The bathrooms were lovely and there was plenty hot water. Lots of space, it's a huge house! Plenty entertaining space. Cute little town - convenient to the ferry. Lovely scenery. Great if you hike or bike(unless it’s raining, which it was for us). Pub food is about the only option, it’s a little elevated at the Hotel. We took the hop on bus, only two stops, not a tour - the driver didn’t say much. The island is absolutely isolated.
The island is absolutely isolated. Only transportation is bicycles. Most tourists arrive on the morning ferry and leave on the evening ferry so when you stay overnight, it is very, very quiet and isolated. We really loved that part of it! “Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10

Outside the town is more interesting than inside.
Outside the town is more interesting than inside. But avoid the minibus tours. Our driver, John, spent five frickin' hours driving around trying to find more passengers, during which time he showed us only two of the sights. He also spent some of the time essentially providing a taxi service, and treated his taxi customers with much more consideration than his tour passengers. There is lots to see and do on the island.
There is lots to see and do on the island. Lots of history and prehistoric monuments. If you are into live music, there's no shortage of that. The Islanders we met were kind and welcoming. We have dietary restrictions, but we're still able to find decent food to eat.
