Travelling from Rome, we made La Spezia our base to launch into the Cinque Terre. Fiume269 was just 10-min walk away from the main train station to travel to the 5 towns. Buses from near our stay take you easily to La Spezia's main attractions.Guest review byRobin GomesItaly - 10.0
By far the best of all 5 towns.
By far the best of all 5 towns. We stayed in the old part of Monterosso and it felt authentic. Much less crowded than the other towns. And much easier to navigate given that it's not all hills. Just a short stroll to the newer side of Monterosso and w plenty of eating spots to choose from.Guest review byNatalieUnited States - 10.0

Riomaggiore is a vibrant town.
Riomaggiore is a vibrant town. Loved being outside at night with the restaurant sounds and bars playing music. It felt safe to walk around on my own. Enjoyed the harbor view and proximity to boat rental and tours. Beach was nice and small and not too crowded. Ferry is right there, too. Highly recommend staying in Riomaggiore.Guest review bySusan CleereUnited States - 10.0

Great village to be based if you want to explore Cinque Terre. The train station is only a short walk from everywhere and there are various food options for breakfasts and dinners. The village itself is very cute and we could see everything in half a day.Guest review byElinaMicUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Picturesque, relatively small and quiet compared to the other cinque Terre towns. Centrally located so I could begin day walks in both directions. Best not to carry heavy luggage up the hill from the train station (around 380 steps) - use the bus… only 1,50 Euros but expect to wait 15-30 mins at peak time. The walks to Vernazza and on to Monterosso, and also the walk to Manarola are magnificent, just be prepared for lots of steps.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 10.0

It was so special to be so close to Cinque Terre region by train and then to come back to the quiet comfort of Hotel Belvedere in the afternoon. There are great opportunities to hire a bike for a few hours and ride to the neighbouring towns of Fremura and Levanto- with all straight road access- no hills involved! The only downfall is the walk up and down the hill for the hotel and town commute- it can become quite tiresome after a long day of sightseeing - but overall a wonderful unforgettable stayGuest review byRAustralia
