- From $344.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 182 reviewsTucked away in the rolling hills of Piemonte, we discovered a hidden gem that felt like stepping into a dream—Castello di Gabiano. From the moment we arrived, the majestic castle perched atop the landscape took our breath away. Surrounded by vineyards and kissed by centuries of history, this place stirred something deep in our souls. It felt like time slowed down, allowing us to savor a peace we didn’t even realize we were missing. The castle, dating back to the 12th century, is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. Our room was named Tre Orlogi, just like one of the wines produced from the surrounding vineyards. It was spacious, elegantly styled, and offered stunning views that greeted us every morning. We also brought home a bottle of Bareja, a sparkling Chardonnay, and of course, the Tre Orlogi—each sip a reminder of our time there. Mornings began with breakfast in the most charming building, where large windows framed the picturesque hills like living paintings. The service throughout our stay was warm and genuine—friendly without being intrusive, and always ready to help. We wandered through the beautifully kept park and got delightfully lost in the labyrinth. It felt like a page out of a fairytale. The guided tour of the castle added layers of depth to our visit, bringing its rich history to life. We stayed for two nights, but it was not nearly enough. Castello di Gabiano is not just a place to rest—it’s a place to feel, reflect, and connect. We left with full hearts, great wine, and a longing to return.Guest review byTravelerNetherlands
- From $152.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 214 reviewsWe always receive a warm welcome and this visit was no exception. We travel between the UK and our villa in Lucca, Tuscany regularly and really look forward to breaking our journey at Monvillone. The location is in the countryside and it is a lovely relaxing place to overnight. Add to that the fact that the cuisine is exceptional - Riccardo is an amazing chef and the wine is very much to our taste. The room is spacious and has a large balcony overlooking the countryside. The bed is large and comfortable and we always wake feeling refreshed and ready to resume our journey. The breakfast offers plenty of choice including croissants, home baked cake, fruits grown locally and yoghurts. Very much looking forward to our next visit in July.Guest review byValerieUnited Kingdom

A very pleasant walk takes you to the city center in 15 minutes. Surroundings are wide enough to walk, see the forest and discover small places every day. Matilde, at the front desk, was very helpful and handsome. All the staff was very nice. We'll stay again in the near future.Guest review byalberto.villarSpain

We were visiting an event in the area and so did not visit the town centre itself, which is a long walk away (the centre has controlled access due to emissions regulations at certain hours). The surrounding area is lovely, with good quality vineyards to the south and interesting towns and villages well worth exploring; to the north across the Po are rice fields which means that the countryside there is flat!Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Acqui Terme is a jewel located in the middle of the triangle...
Acqui Terme is a jewel located in the middle of the triangle: Genova, Milano, and Torino. People are friendly, the stores are nearby, and the food is calling us back. We walked the path along the Bormida River, the streets of the city, the board around the Paleologi castle. The narrow streets in the downtown are romantic and full of history. I cannot recommend one place to eat because we enjoyed every one of them.Guest review byMarianaUnited States - 8.0

Moncalvo is a small town. This property is amazing. Great for getting away from the hustle and bustle. Very relaxing however, the public transportation is not dependable. Must rent a car or prebook taxi. Taxi prices are expensive.Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0

Cocconato is a charming town nestled between Asti and Torino. It is literally 2 hours from anywhere on the northern end of Italy. You can easily access the lake region if you wanted to, go to the French border or the Swiss border. The Town itself is very cute. It is very walkable. There are vineyard to visit nearby. It's a great place to go and disconnect. The food in town is delicious. Highly recommend the Canon D'oro, the Pizzeria Trattoria Sottosopra in the town center and the Caffe Bar Roma in the center square.Guest review bypriscillaUnited States - 10.0

Beautiful little town between Turin and Milan. Worth visiting, very nice atmosphere, beautiful churches. Synagogue is probably most beautiful in Europe dating 1500. Nice restaurants, bars and places to have a coffee and enjoy cakes.Guest review byDarzelSerbia - 10.0

We have been coming to acqui terme for many years. Beautiful Roman town with quant streets and must be some of the best restaurants in the town and surrounding areas. Plenty of life, market twice a week. Few designer shopsGuest review bycolinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Small village with a few restaurants and neighborhood stores and specialty shops. Especially lovely at night. Victoria at BAart was so helpful, very knowledgeable about wines of the region and was a big help planning our tour of the region. BAart should be your first stop before adventuring out to the many villages, castles, wineries and vineyards.Guest review byNeunaberUnited States - 10.0
I was born in Casale.
I was born in Casale. I try and go back as often as I can to visit my sister and brother . I book a my own accommodation as I want to be independent. I like to be on my own. Casale is quiet compared to London but I like it this way now It has a variety of restaurant, pizzeria, even a Macdonalds There are a lot of churches all worth a visit especially the Duomo. It has a castle you can visit for free and plenty of cobbled streets. The walk from the centre to the train station takes you across town in the old part of town where all the council and admin offices are. The town has a market twice a week. Worth a visit for local produce and just wonder in the fruit and veg stalls. The whole time is walkable but you can catch buses if you wish. I always come with a car from the airport, parking if for free except in the blue bays reserved for residents. So be careful, you can get fined. Aperitive time is the best! from 5pm you can order any drink to be served with a plate of small bites. every different bar does their own. no dinner require. Aperitif crawl is the best. Via Roma is at the centre of the town and the most of the fancy shops. There also 2 main shopping centres on the outskirts of the town.Guest review byMo DeSoUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The room is well equipped , clean and beds are super comfortable (a Queen and a single bed), airconditioning in the room is a ++ because it was hot during the summer. The outdoor pool size is big enough and very clean. Breakfast provided is top notch with good coffee. i recommend that at least one try in the restaurant because the foods are really authentic italian cuisine and the range of wine selections is amazing. Importantly, the staff (his name is Victorino) is super friendly , helpful and warmth.Guest review byPhilipMalaysia
