Where do I Start with this review! Omar is a beautiful soul, he treated us like family. He got in touch 2 days before we arrived so he could give us the location and have everything ready for our arrival and parking. He helped us park in a safe location 2 minutes walking distance away from the hotel. The hotel is brand new , lovely looking and on the main street where you have both the churches . We felt very safe walking on the streets. Madaba has a beautiful atmosphere at night. we were offered tea, coffee and cold drink on arrival. Omar helped us with our luggage and took us to our rooms, which were lovely with a spotless and new bathroom .A.c worked perfectly. Omars wife prepared a delicious typical Jordanian breakfast with so much variety that we were spoilt for choice. The breakfast was delicious. Omar helped me book a trusted camp in wadi rum as I was having difficulties distinguishing between fake and real reviews and camps. He carried on helping me even after I had left Madaba. I would highly recommend Omar and this hotel. I will be coming back to only Omars hotel when in Madaba again. Omar is my brother from another mother. His hospitality and kindness has a whole level of love in my heart for the madaba people!

The hotel is really beautiful, very modern and new. The rooms are a great size. The staff is friendly and pleasant. The hotel is located very close to the center of Madaba. The breakfast was fantastic, with a large selection of different dishes. The wonderful swimming pool was the best addition after a tiring day of walking and sightseeing. We liked our stay here so much that we returned for another night at the end of the trip.

Madaba is world famous for its ancient mosaics and its modern day mosaic school and workshops. If you want to see a mosaic, go to Madaba. Furthermore there are some very good and well priced restaurants.

The Mujib is for people who want to wind down and go slow.

The Mujib is for people who want to wind down and go slow. The place needs some attention and could use a coat of paint and some general maintenance. The staff are very nice, but why are there no women working there? Overall we would recommend Mujib Chalets. The site is so beautiful and the Dead Sea so weird that there is no place like it.

The tourist part with St John the Baptist church, visitor centre, museum and burnt palace etc is easy to explore and plenty of eateries too. Shop keepers are helpful and don't hassle you much. Easy to take a taxi to Mount Nebo, and I also enjoyed Bethany beyond the Jordan (where John the Baptist did his work), which takes a bit longer as you get bussed from the visitor reception to the river. It was amazing to look across the river to Israel where someone was being baptised. The Dead Sea and Hot Springs are also within reach, but not sure how it works with all the 4star hotels along the edge. Yellow taxis plentiful. If it's cold in Madaba (I was there in early March and they had a cold spell) the good news is its warm at the Dead Sea and the hot springs are wonderfully warm.

We almost skipped Madaba as we wanted to spend more time in Petra and Wadi Rum but were so glad we went and could have spent more time. Besides the incredible mosaics, there are Roman ruins and underground spaces that were fun to explore plus this had some of the best shopping we saw and we regretted not having more time to browse. With its Byzantine history Madaba feels different than the other cities in Jordan and is well worth the visit.
