The service at this hotel was the best we got on our trip this year. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly. Shipping lugage was spotless, no self-service style. You're fully helped by the staff. We had rooms on the 17th floor, no noise at all from the train station below. Breakfast is very extensive and really well tasting. And again with great staff. Location is perfect if you want to do train trips to Itsukushima and Fukuoka like we did.

The hotel is very good located, 10 minutes from the train station. All the staff speak English very well and are very kind and friendly. They provide good information and city details. The decoration with otters is very fun. The room is not very big and some facilities may need a renovation, but for one person and one night it is fine. You can take a free bicycle that it's very convenient to reach the castle and the garden. Although there is no breakfast, they offer you some pastries and nikuman that are very good. The 24-hour free drink service is also very good. The wifi connection was quite good.

The best hotel I have stayed in during my stay in Japan. From the moment you enter you are greeted by wonderful and helpful staff. The automatic check-in was something new to me, but I was helped by a lovely lady from the hotel staff who spoke excellent English. We were given a spacious room on the 20th floor with a wonderful view of Hiroshima. The breakfast was delicious and the variety of breakfast options was overwhelming. I will definitely stay here when I come back to Hiroshima!

Kiro was a fantastic experience. It's a stylish hotel with a calm, quiet, and luxurious feel. I really loved the attention to detail, especially from a design perspective. The communal area also felt really unique and gave the place a lot of character. I stayed in a compact room, and while it was relatively small, it was actually a little bigger than expected. I feel like Kiro is a superb midrange hotel that I would happily stay at again.

It isn’t a typical tourist destination from my understanding but the gardens by night are absolutely stunning. The casual is also beautiful and I’m sad to have missed the pottery class. Food and bars also exceptional - everybody is particularly friendly, and perhaps less used to accommodating tourists. Coffee: Empire coffee roasters. Friendly service and outstanding coffee. Food: Hidaya Yanigamachi. Grill your own delicious meat. Drink: ichigin. Super friendly and will involve you in conversations even if you don’t speak Japanese.

Onomichi is a picturesque and walkable city with lots of charm. You can stroll the vintage shotegai, visit the art museum, enjoy a snack at Onomichi U2, take a temple walk, ride the ropeway, and of course, biking the Shimanami Kaido. The people are friendly and the food and shopping are great.

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.

It’s a little off the main tourist route, which is why it’s worth a visit. In November the weather was great. It was easy to visit the castle and grounds and a bus trip to Tomonoura was great way to spend the day. A little fishing port famous for being in films and again not too busy. In Fukuyama a visit to the Clock and auto museum is like entering an Aladdin’s cave of wonders. It’s full of the past and not just cars and clocks. Lots of small owner run restaurants as well.
