Fukuoka City offers a lot for travellers who like the city feel, but not necessarily how crowded Tokyo is. There’s many cultural sites within Fukuoka and surrounds if that’s what you like as well. This is a small town but perfect for conference or a few day escape from routine trip. Some attractions like shrines, few hiking trails and a railway museum are around. Fukuoka, (Hakata) is a lot less crowded than Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. There is a ferry terminal where you can ride a ferry to Busan, S. Korea if you like. The Shinkansen train station is in the central part of town making transportation very easy and the subway system is not insane to use like Tokyo. Prices for food are very reasonable and there are many different restaurants to enjoy. Day or night, Fukuoka is a lovely, safe and enjoyable place.Guest review byEdwardUnited States
