- From $342.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 1,654 reviewsMy room was large with a very big shower and tub area and full size soaking tub. Everything was updated and the mattress was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed, including a small fridge and a handy in-room safety box. Breakfast was included with my room and I could choose between the excellent Japanese breakfast in the Japanese restaurant overlooking a garden, or opt for the Western-style buffet which featured made to order eggs and omelets and a wide array of delicious options. I liked the location near the Gosho Imperial Palace and the Marutamachi subway station. When I was feeling lazy I took the free shuttle to Oike/Karasuma, where I could catch two different subways (east-west and north-south). The open atrium in the center featured a coffee shop/bar and was a pleasant place to chat with friends. I used to live in Kyoto and this is one of my favorite parts of town, very convenient yet quiet. I can speak Japanese, but was glad that the front desk staff included some very good English speakers. I found the staff at this hotel very friendly and professional throughout the property. After staying for one week, I found it very hard to leave. I will definitely be back.Guest review byBridgetUnited States
- From $179.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,044 reviewsThe hotel location was great! Like 15 min walking from the Kyoto St. The stuff is yound and kind. They speak very good english and help you with everything you can. They store your luggage on the arrival and on the check out. In every room there are Vinyl disk players and you can take from the reception a vinyl disk and listen to your room. Plus they gave us delicious ice cream for free. The room is also big cozy and clean. It was everythong perfect. I will definently stay here againGuest review byLaura GabrielaRomania
- From $178.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 692 reviewsYou can tell the age of the building from its look. But we have our best stay here during our trip. Great location, right across the road from the station. Great food. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, it’s so special and delicious, better than the high ranked restaurant we found nearby. Great view. You can literally stay in Ama-no-Hashidate. Quiet, private, without street light at night. The onsen is spacious and well maintained. Very comfy bed. Highly recommended.Guest review byCHIA-HOTaiwan
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,273 reviewsLocation, location, location. This hotel is across the street from Kyoto Station and Aeon Mall is around the corner so it's ideal. Our twin rooms were in the main building so they were slightly dated but for the price that we paid, that is to be expected. The main thing is the rooms were very clean. People also may find a lack of floor space for everyone to open up luggage if you are in the main building. Hotel staff are very courteous and helpful.Guest review byEileenUnited States
- From $331.72 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,889 reviewsIt has a great interior, perfect for taking pictures or simply to relax. The hotel also offers shuttle bus from the hotel back to Kyoto Station, and vice versa. The place is also a stop for the Kyoto Sky Hop Off and Hop On Bus. These made our travel a lot convenient. There are some shrines that are near the place. It may be walking distance but depends on your definition of a short or long walk. The people are very accommodating and helpful.Guest review byKiaPhilippines
- From $551.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,874 reviewsFantastic location, inside the Kyoto Station, which helped a lot to move around everywhere. Even though, train station noise is not heard from the room, so sleeping and relaxing were fine. Staff is also incredible and helped us to forward our luggage and gave us tips about what to see around. Our stay at Granvia Kyoto was unforgettable, and we are already making plans to come back. Thanks everyone to make our vacation so special.Guest review byGianeBrazil

The amenities like tea, pajamas, bottled water, slippers, bath salts, etc., are generous, and the staff is incredibly helpful. There are washers and dryers in the building that are easy to use. It's in a great location well located on mass transportation routes and only 15 minutes walking distance from Kyoto Station.Guest review byRobinSpain

We loved Kyoto.
We loved Kyoto. We loved the people and the food and the beauty. We started with an e-bike tour of the city which helped orient us to the landscape, history, and culture. Google maps had bus and train routes and times, which helped immensely with transportation. We took taxis a few times when bus service wasn't timely, and the fees were very reasonable. Kyoto was hot and humid, but dressing in free flowing, cotton clothes, using sun umbrellas like the locals, and drinking lots of water with electrolytes made life fairly comfortable. Our favorite outings were the river boat ride down the Hazugawa River, really fun and a chance to see some back country, and climbing up Mt Inari through the Thousand Torii Gates. We climbed in the late afternoon and returned down the steps in the twilight, a truly magical experience. Bring lots of water and plenty of energy. It's a long way up.Guest review byRuthUnited States - 10.0

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.Guest review byAmyCanada - 8.0
The staff was awesome!
The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.Guest review byMarkGermany - 10.0

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.Guest review byDeepuJapan - 10.0

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.Guest review byAlanUnited States - 10.0

The people of Kyoto were very friendly despite what is often written online about the city being too crowded and having too many tourists. My only regret was the weather - which at the time was exceptionally hot and overcast. I would highly recommend visiting during the month of October rather than September.Guest review byPeterCanada - 10.0
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas.
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.Guest review byeltopoJapan - 10.0

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. we was in kyoto for 7 days in spetember, the temp was over 30 daily, 7 days was perfect as we saw all the temples over the days, got to enjoy some amazing tiktok restaurants, had a few cheap nights in, where we got some amazing food from the local supermarket, the oakwood hotel, let ppl use their dining area, when they are not serving breakfast. the bus in kyoto, if you stay within an area (best to google) is a one off 230yen so we took a bus from the oike area to the golden temple for 230yen each way. buses take 10 50 100 500 1000 yen and will give change, but its best to have correct amount. get on the bus at the back, i think if there is not ticket machine, the bus will stay in the 230yen area, then get off and pay at the front. the bus i used had a screen detailing its routeGuest review byn0madicbeeUnited Kingdom
