- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 389 reviewsThe architectural design and interior decoration are cozy yet elegant. We love the room with the sea view and the massage chair. After spending time in tiny hotel rooms in cities, we just went crazy for the vast space inside which kinda felt like home: a big tv screen, cozy mattresses and duvets, and easily adjustable a/c. Walking around the hotel was comfortable with their lounge wear and Japanese slippers, and the onsen is easy to access and very relaxing. The staff are very friendly and eager to help out. Everywhere we walked past, they greeted and were attentive even though some of them may not speak a fluent English. Breakfast is abundant and very well-managed.Guest review byTithinunThailand
- From $1,462.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,342 reviewsThe best view of the Itsukushima shrine and it's oceanfront Torii gate, as well the whole of Miyajima island and mountain landscape, right infront of yours room balcony! The available private onsen has the same wonderful view plus the enjoynment of soaking in the hot mineral water! The breakfast is buffet type with extensive range of choices. While dinner time is the japanese course menu. Unfortunately for both the cuisine stays the same, while for breakfast it is undestandable, but for dinner they only changed the appetizer, the other dishes stayed exactly the same, so it could be bland taste if overstaying more than 1-2 nights.Guest review byMetodiBulgaria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 24 reviewsHotel Miyu Rikyu is perfectly situated along the waterfront just a few steps from Miyajima Ferry. We had a sea view room and could see the Otori Gate from our window. The setting and room were very. beautiful, Sleeping on the traditional futons on tatami mats was comfortable, and the set 12 course menu was delicious (though could be challenging for picky eaters). Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. Note that we were the only foreigners during our stay and the staff does speak English but it is a much more traditional Ryokan. On site onsen (public bath) was very nice with a small view out to the sea from the top floor.Guest review byEdithUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 727 reviewsThe attention to detail at this resort was impeccable, as was the quality of service. It is perfectly situated, being far enough away from the crowds, but within easy walking distance of the Torii gate, the "downtown" area, and the ropeway station for the ride up the mountain. Adjacent to the facility is a picturesque stream with the quintessential red colored pedestrian bridge. Be sure to sign up for the delicious breakfast and dinner; the same meal enjoyed by the heads of state at the recent G7 Summit held here. I will definitely be returning with my spouse to bask in the peace and tranquility of Miyajima.Guest review byIoriJapan
- From $614.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 342 reviewsIt's by far the best hotel experience we had in Japan, after being in 4-5 other cities. The lounge facing ocean with sunset view is amazing, and the rooftop bath in the night overlooking the bay and the Tori is intimate and relaxing, after the crowd is gone. The staff is extremely caring and offered personalized advice to visit and dine out. We were late for check-out because of some delay with the ropeway, but the staff really cared about our wellbeing. Cherry on top, beds in Japan are usually very hard but this hotel gave me the best sleep!Guest review byYichunFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 2,238 reviews- Kaiseki dinner served in the room (in our case, your experience may vary). Japanese breakfast is available in the same format as the dinner. - The room was beautiful, with a classic Japanese style. - Comfortable Japanese beds and clothes. - Onsen available, not very crowded. - Shop and vending machines in the hotel.Guest review bydarccioSpain
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 444 reviewsEverything was fantastic - the rooms came with Yukatas, pajamas, vests, tea, water, a towel bag and one face wash set. The breakfast in the morning was unbelievable - that alone made the price well worth it, but add in the baths and lovely rooms & decor - just an unbelievable stay.Guest review byJessicaCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 204 reviewsThe hotel was just minutes from the port. The host was extremely helpful. Good coffee and tea available and a small area with homemade craft items for sale. The room was spacious including a balcony-like alcove looking toward the sea. The name - moon rabbit - was very fitting.Guest review byMarieUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 2,230 reviewsHighlight of my trip, I wish we stayed 2 nights not just one. Great hospitality and wonderful facilities. Personally the futon was very comfortable since I prefer harder matress. A 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, very close to the main attractions.Guest review byKarlaSpain

The main reasson to visit was the Itsukushima Shrine but there was plenty of other shrines and temples to visit. The ropeway to Mt, Misen was great. The hike down not so much (not a trail, mainly steps - hard on the knees.Guest review byDeanUnited States - 10.0

Miyajima was great for walking around and doing the ropeway to the top. A lot of little eateries and street food- good if you like seafood. Scenic with the giant Tori gate and shrines, woods, deer walking around. Miyajima was one of my favorite spots on our trip to Japan.Guest review byMarciaUnited States - 10.0

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom
