Guests can park on the basement or the higher level parking area. Check-in was so smooth and fast that we only need few minutes. This time we got the Lake Tower for 16th floor (half ocean view) and 6th floor (back view). The hotel has a ice cube machine and microwave machine provided on 8th floor. The amenities were good but they do not provide the toothbrush, sandal, toothpastes which you can buy with vending machine on each floor near elevators or convenience store on 1st floor (which is more less expensive than the vending machine). The hotel and the beach is very near and great to have a nice walk with great view. To the left side there are restaurants and cafes near by just by walking the beach. Great place with so much to do, from a beautiful temple on a cliff overlooking the sea in a nearby town to the most stunning national park in South Korea, along with beaches and great food. We love walking to see the real town/city. Enjoyed Chuncheon, easy walking, tidy, varying architecture. Love the alleyways, parks and markets. People are quiet but helpful when they can. It was very cold during our stay, so we didn't walk much. We mainly skied. The infrastructure is well developed, there are shops, saunas, swimming pools and cafes. The mountains are not very high, but there are many slopes for varied skiing. We use only Mona YongPyong slopes. Our son has lived in Seoul for 9 years. He and his friends were surprised that we chose to go to Sokcho after our stay in Seoul and suggested Busan instead. Their main concern was that we would struggle with language in Sokcho as we only speak a little Korean. It didn't turn out to be a problem at all! The local people were really friendly and were keen to speak to us in English to find out where we were from etc.to practice their English. Sokcho was brilliant offering both coast and the Seoraksan National Park. It was nice to get out of the city and spend 5 days there. The hotel was basic, room and bathroom were very small. The hotel staff were not very helpful in offering information about restaurants and cafes nearby. Spa and sauna are not included in the room price. The hotel is 1.5 km from downtown, so if you prefer to have some restaurant options stay elsewhere. Nice clean Beaches with Clear water. Ok for families, not much going on if you are single. Stay 2 days.You can walk to most places in the town within half an hour. There are many places in Gangneung I wanted to visit but I couldnt because of time. I ate street food, I did not use a taxi because I could walk (15 minutes) to down town and back to my accommodation. I visited Haslla Museum, Deung Myeong beach.
