- From US$63.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 293 reviewsWe were spending a night in Uralsk with family, waiting for our flight. The hotel was almost empty at the night of our stay. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was OK. Good choice of food buffet for breakfast (pancakes, porridge, cheese, jam, butter, coffee beans etc.) also we got freshly fried eggs. Spacy room (we had a room with a separate bedroom and the kid was on the sofa in another room). Clean towels and bed lining. This hotel has elevator which was handy because our room was at the 4th floor.Guest review byStanislavRussia

I went there for the specific reason to try to practice some basic Russian. Most of the museums are very small although I enjoyed the archaeology floor in the main museum. Because of Covid many of the places I went to in the evening were empty. Generally people were kind if you are not intimidated by what seems to be a cold exterior typical of the region (because I am British I am not put off by this). I deliberately chose places where English was not likely to be spoken and despite my Russian being super basic, I got by. It was only in a Ukrainian restaurant where I felt the waitress was almost hostile -but probably she was just freaked out by a non Russian speaker. I did try a few of the modern style type restaurants/bars and as of March 2021 I found the Barrel the most interesting in terms of the menu.Guest review byRobertKazakhstan
