The hotel is impressive as soon as you walk in. The staff were quick to greet you and help you check in. The room (family), was spacious, quiet, very clean with all modern fittings and amenities. The breakfast was excellent - catered for a range of cuisines. Again, the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Incredibly spacious rooms, we were given connecting family rooms with a fully stocked kitchen. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Mr. Satsare (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly). This is really a quiet haven against the backdrop of the bustling city of Kandy. We were welcomed with cool towels and refreshments and the owner could not do more to make our stay fantastic. This included a complimentary lift into town, an extended check out and help with transport and tours. Nothing was too much trouble! The hotel is in a beautiful building, tastefully furnished with lots of terraces/areas to relax and with the added benefit of a pool. The breakfast was delicious and served in the beautiful first floor dining room with fantastic views. The most remarkable value for money - couldn’t recommend more highly!

Amazing views and place. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The staff was super kind to us and helpful at all times. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and can say that the food was delicious. All in all, excellent quality for price. What a pity we only stayed for one night! 100% recommended!

    We loved this place! It almost felt like time had been turned back to an era a very long time ago. A beautiful, proud hotel with stately staircases, a great pool, great bar and music and lovely staff and breakfast. We would love to recommend this to other travellers.     Our visit to Kandy was truly wonderful, offering a perfect blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern convenience. The city is a joy to explore, and we found it remarkably easy to get around. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the iconic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Maligawa) and taking a relaxing stroll around the picturesque Kandy Lake. We also loved exploring the serene Udawatte Kele Sanctuary, which felt like a peaceful escape. For those interested in the region's history, the Hanthana Tea Museum and the Kandy Wax Museum were both fascinating, and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens were an absolute must-see with their stunning and diverse flora. The dining scene in Kandy was delightful. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious and authentic meal at the Sri Ramya Hotel in town. For a special evening, we had dinner at Sams restaurant, which offered not only great food but also a fantastic view of the city. We also grabbed a quick bite at the restaurant on the top floor of KCC, which was very convenient. Getting around the city was surprisingly simple. The PickMe and Uber apps work well, and we found that tuk-tuks are readily available and very affordable, making it easy to hop between different attractions. While traveling without young children, we believe Kandy offers many family-friendly activities. The Hanthana Tea Museum, Kandy Wax Museum, and the beautiful botanical gardens are all engaging spots that would surely be enjoyed by families. Overall, Kandy is an excellent destination that combines rich history with natural charm and practical accessibility. We highly recommend it for any traveler.

    We lived here as children.

    We lived here as children. Our father taught at Zahira College. We had contacted them and they received is kindly and showed us around. We found the house where we lived and the lady there was very friendly. Our father's friend's son and daughter gave us lunch at their resort. All that was great.

    We had a fantastic stay at Symphony Homes during our visit to Kandy. The villa looks exactly like the photos — modern, very clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The peaceful location was perfect, yet only a short drive to Kandy city and major attractions. The private garden was lovely to relax in, and the fully equipped kitchen made our stay even more comfortable. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, always quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful private villa in Kandy!

The hike was magnificent, with an excellent and caring guide. The packed lunch provided during the hike was both delicious and energy-packed—just what we needed. After the hike, we returned to Royal Mountain Edge, where we enjoyed a refreshing dip in the infinity pool followed by warm tea and local snacks. In the evening, they surprised us with a cozy bonfire, serving local brews as we warmed ourselves by the flames. For dinner, the BBQ platter was absolutely delicious and satisfying. The silence time began at 11:00 PM, but until then, we immersed ourselves in the serene forest surroundings and its enchanting nightlife. The rooms were spacious, cozy, and impeccably clean, offering a perfect retreat after an adventurous day. The next morning, we woke up early to watch the sunrise near the pool, accompanied by a hot cup of coffee graciously served by the staff. Breakfast was a delightful spread of local delicacies, including milk rice, lunu miris, chicken curry, and fresh fruits. It was the perfect way to end our magical stay at Royal Mountain Edge, Knuckles. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike!

    It was a visit to Ride Viharaya, and All Viharaya Rock temples in Central Sri Lanka. We did not stay long to visit All Lena (there Place where Thiptaka was originally written on Ola leaves) and Nalanda Gedige (Geographical centre of Sri Lanka)

    Kandy is a very busy city!

    Kandy is a very busy city! We ended up having to spend 3 nights there due to trying to get a train booking to Kandy, however we felt that 1 night, max 2 would have been enough. You can get round all the main attractions in a day so you don't need to spend too much time. Don't book tickets through a third party as you are not guaranteed them (we were told the day before we didn't have tickets!) so just turn up early to the station and you'll get a ticket for the train - though no guarantee of a seat!
