⭐ An Unforgettable Stay at Farm Villa Resort! ⭐ I stayed at Farm Villa Resort for 3 nights and had a truly fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with fresh green coconuts – such a refreshing touch that set the tone for a relaxing getaway. 🌴 The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always attentive and ready to help, which made us feel right at home. The rooms were very clean, and the overall environment was peaceful and well-maintained. The location is ideal, surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking beautiful paddy fields. The natural sounds of birds and wind made the stay even more soothing. 🐦🌾 One of the highlights was the huge swimming pool – perfect for cooling off and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. A special shoutout to Chef Appu, who served up the most delicious Sri Lankan rice and curry – full of authentic flavor and made with love! 🍛 The breakfasts were big and tasty, and every meal during our stay was exceptional – both in variety and quality. Definitely value for money! We also did a half-day Yala Safari, which was very well arranged and added a real adventure to our trip. 🐘🦚 Overall, this was a wonderful and memorable experience. I highly recommend Farm Villa Resort to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a nature-filled escape in Kataragama. 💚

Tamarind Tree House is truly a hidden gem for anyone looking to escape into nature without sacrificing comfort. The room we stayed in was beautiful—spacious, cozy, and had a charming view of a small waterfall right outside the window. Waking up to the sound of flowing water was incredibly calming and made the whole experience feel serene and refreshing. The service was warm and attentive, with the staff going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their hospitality really made a difference and added a personal touch to the stay. That said, a little extra attention to maintenance would take this place from great to exceptional. Some areas could use a bit of upkeep to match the overall charm of the property. But honestly, it didn’t take away much from the experience—we still had a fantastic time. Highly recommended for couples, solo travelers, or anyone looking to unwind close to nature!

    It’s an amazing property located within the center of Kataragama and surrounded by serene gardens. Ideal location for a family retreat and we throughly enjoyed our stay . Hotel staffs are absolute gem and very courteous who ensured every aspect of our stay are closely followed up and supported . Breakfast was amazing and had many varieties and the swimming pool was large and had a big area for kids which made my daughter extremely an happy guest .

    The chalets have an amazing view. The pool is very clean and the deck chairs over looking the rice paddies and mountains make for the perfect relaxation setting . The staff are very attentive and friendly, they try to accommodate all requests from guests. This has been one of the best places we have ever stayed at. Highly recommend .

    Beautiful setting! Lovely bungalows! Loved every part of it. You are not likely to see leopard but we were of course aware of this before coming. Saw a huge heard of elephants and met chief elder of the Vedha community. Super interesting. Definitely recommend coming to this magical place.

    Kataragama itself is a temple town and that’s pretty much it...

    Kataragama itself is a temple town and that’s pretty much it. Other than that it’s a jumping off point for safari in yala and kumana. One day is more than enough for cultural/religious aspects. The Perahara (pageant) in July is fantastic. Be warned that it may not start till midnight and may need pre booked tickets. Also watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas around this time. The country side and the rural life as well as the wildlife is fantastic and authentic. Quite hot and sunny year round but dec to feb is more comfortable.

    The small accommodation is set a nature reserve park, with good mountainous and forestry view. The surrounding area is good for fresh air and for a long walk in a rugged forest area.Make sure wear a suitable hiking shoes.

    We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6. Safari was excellent & saw one leopard & a bear! Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.

    Nice place surrounded by beautiful paddy filled, adjacent river was another level experience since it was a perfect place to chill out after incredible tour of elephants and birds watching. We got easy access to one of the Yala gates. Thank for the Sri Lankan authentic breakfast, even host didn't charge for that. All good, highly recommended

    I thought it was a different place to go for Safari. But, almost all vehicles come from Tissa for Safari pickup so it doesn't really matter if you book a room in Tissa or Katharagama for the Safari.

    Buttala is a beautiful little city close to the northern...

    Buttala is a beautiful little city close to the northern part of Yala National Park. If you pass by (maybe on your way to/from the east coast), stop here and enjoy a couple of nights in the local homestays (we can fully recommend Yala Avian Eye Safari!!). Safaris from here are calm and you can enjoy the northern part without hundreds of other jeeps.

    Even though it is a religious hub that connects all the religions to a one place, I enjoyed the YALA Safari very much. Spotted all most all the animals from water birds to hundreds of peacocks, from mongoose to leopard and elephants.
