We had the most amazing time at Leel’s Safari cottage! The room was perfect—super clean, beautifully designed, with air conditioning and a hot water. You can really tell how much effort they put into making everything just right. It felt so cozy and welcoming. The garden outside was lovely—well-kept, peaceful, and such a nice place to relax. And the food… wow! The meals cooked by Leel’s mom and his wife were the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Thank you both for making every meal so special! We also did the sunrise safari with Leel, and it was incredible🌅 He’s so professional and knows the park so good. He explained everything so calmly and made sure we didn’t miss anything. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much, Leel, for an unforgettable stay. We’ll always remember it, and we’re so happy we got to meet you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 If you’re thinking of coming here—don’t think twice. Highly recommended!❤️

This is a great stop of for visiting the nearby safari. Everything was great. A real family atmosphere where everyone tries to make your stay as memorable as possible. They arranged a Valentines surprise for us, a cooking course which was incredible and thorough and also a great safari. Lovely big cool room too. Wonderful value too.

The manager of the resort was amazing. He sent for a bottle of wine and beer for us for our meals at the resort. Room was so comfortable, bed and pillows were perfect. Bathroom was clean. Pool was so nice. Very close to the entrance to the park although we saw few animals the day we went. We stayed 2 nights and had dinner at the restaurant. Wonderful meals..resort is only 1 year old. Would definitely stay here again!

The wooden cabins are deep in nature and , you will sleep cradled by the sounds of the forest around you. The food was so tasty and all the activities well organized. The guide that drew us into the National Park has been very kind and helpful in showing us a lot of animals hidden into the trees and bushes. Such a wonderful experience, definitively recommended.

Amazing place to stay with great coffee, a nice pool and clean rooms with a nice balcony. The food is very tasty and they offer good wine. They organized an amazing Safari Tour with Dushan who is a great guide with profound knowledge. In the park he even picked up some trash. Will for sure come back, thank you so much! 🙏🏼☺️

Absolutely fantastic place. For a more than a fair price you get SUPER clean rooms (travelled with family) and Gayan is a really great safari driver, knows all the spots and how to get everywhere first. Hotel is 1 min drive from the entrance of Udawalawe National Park. The breakfast prepared for the trip was delicious, nicely balanced. Oh, one more thing: lunch prepared for us after the safari was one of the best Sri Lankan food I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot). Thank you! Definitely recommend !!

    This place in Belihuloya is a real hidden gem! Tucked away in a beautiful forested area, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and get close to nature. You’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful sounds of the forest—truly an escape from it all. The staff here were awesome—super friendly and welcoming. Big shoutout to Asanka, who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s rare to find people who genuinely care, but that’s exactly what you’ll get here. The food was just amazing! The Sri Lankan dishes, in particular, were a highlight—so much flavor, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. From delicious curries to all the classic local sides, it was honestly some of the best Sri Lankan food I’ve had. If you’re looking to relax, enjoy great food, and be around wonderful people, this place in Belihuloya is definitely worth checking out!

    The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

    We had a wonderful stay at Kalus Hideaway Udawalawe. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally well-trained, attentive, and friendly. The rooms, while slightly dated, were spacious, functional, and well-equipped. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens, especially the butterfly garden, which was a delight to explore. The on-site restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, and our excursion to Udawalawe National Park was a highlight of the trip. Overall, a relaxing and memorable experience — highly recommended.

    The best hotel I stayed in Sri Lanka. The rooms were cleaned and properly maintained.The food was fantastic. Every dish was prepared with so much care and perfection. The entire hotel is well built and very neatly maintained. The view was fantastic.     The bathroom that separates the shower area from the toilet! This was the only place where we didn’t have to wipe up the toilet seat after taking a shower in Sri Lanka. The hot shower, cooling a/c, clean bed linens and towels,,things that are standard in the western countries are not always the case in Sri Lanka, so this was really a nice experience. The staff were really nice as well.

    Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. I even left my headphones in the room and the staff found them and organised a taxi to come and drop them off for me. Classy stuff. The room and location were lovely, super clean and we loved the pool. Breakfast and dinner were decent and everything was done with a smile. Highly recommend and the price is great!

    The Country Side Hotel at Uda Walawe is a very nice place right off the main road. Rooms are spacious and clean, overlooking a ~10m long swimming pool within the trees. It is a very nice please to stay overnight before an early morning safari. Breakfast is excellent, as the warm staff members. Such a real pleasure that i stayed an extra day!

    Ratnapura is a fascinating town with few concessions for the western tourist. If you have an interest in the real, gritty Sri Lanka (particularly if the gem industry has appeal) then this town will afford endless stimulation. If, on the other hand you are looking for a holiday resort with restaurants and attractions don't bother - stick to the west coast.

    Let me first say how accomodating the staff was. The staff at Glenrock ensured that we were well taken care and went above and beyond with extras to ensure we were happy.  Lodging: The lodging was excellent, I slept very well in their comfortable bed and the ceiling fan with the AC was perfect.  Environment: The area and grounds offer a spectacular view from above and below, we did not want to leave, heard a few monkeys on our roof during the night. Food: The dinner was good and the breakfast was plentiful, they did not leave our side and ensured the breakfast on the river was done perfectly. They went out of their way to make us happy. Overall: My team,my wife and I loved "The Glenrock", we will stay again and stay longer next time. Thank you to the entire team

    Amazing experience!

    Amazing experience! It's a hidden gem in Sri Lanka and will cater for every type of need. You love nature but dont want to hike, this is the place to go. You want to hike in the Singharaja forest? Well this is the best place to stay. You just want to be with your loved one? Nothing can beat this place. The bunglow itself is an art in the middle of the forest, packed with memories from the past but also with all modern day amenities to make you comfortable. Above all, the staffs are exceptionally good and will ensure you have personalised experience all the time. They will know yoir need even before you notice. I woild like to thank Lasith for his exceptionally hospitality. I have been to many places but never found someone like him.

    A walk into the small town of Embilipitya was always an...

    A walk into the small town of Embilipitya was always an interesting trip into real sri lankan life. Cafe's cake shops, restaurants etc - and banks/ATMs - in fact not much that you don't need. A 30mins drive to the beach going south and a 15 in drive to the national park for the elephants. To say nothing of the peacocks constantly gracing Illukawella's gardens.

    Nothing much to see in Rakwana town.

    Nothing much to see in Rakwana town. But the surrounding mountain areas are breathtaking. Avoid the Rakwana-Deniyaya 10-bends road as it is under heavy construction work and very difficult to travel by a car.

    Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome. The welcome coffee was the best time of my life. Not only that, I was surprised because the pool was so clean and beautiful. And another best option is that my friends also went on safari with them so we organized the safari with them. The driver is very friendly and has 10 years of experience. Thank you for everything.

    We were only passing by for some business matters. But holiday wise nothing really much to see unless you're an agri culture enthusiast. Pretty close to Udawalawa National Park, so it's a good stop over for someone who wants to do Udawalawa Safari.

    This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip!
