Luxembourg has so much to offer.
Luxembourg has so much to offer. Take advantage of the free transportation. You may have to rent a car to get to more remote locations; like Vianden Castle or Mullerthal. The history of the country is amazing and the shopping and food are great. We spent a week and barely touched the surface.Guest review byeuUnited States - 10.0

The castle is a brilliant visit and a walk along the Our Promenade are two excellent activities in Vianden and there are plenty of well marked hiking trails in the area as well as free public transport to adjacent areas.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I wasnt there long, an overnight stop with a morning walk into the town. The petrol prices were pretty reasonable and there was a decent supermaket and mini mall at the bottom of the town. If staying for a short break I would probably get a hotel in Luxembourg City, as although all transport in the country is free its stops at 2300. Also to be fair I was there on a Monday night so maybe its a bit livelier at weekends?Guest review byDomreevesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.Guest review byFilipBelgium - 10.0

Amazing location to explore the Mullerthal Trails and the nearby Grun Holle. Beautiful mossy forrests. Great amenities including sauna and indoor pool. Friendly and efficient staff. I would have loved a week here.Guest review byJanaUnited States - 4.0
Wilz. What a disappointment.
Wilz. What a disappointment. For such a large town in the Ardenne with all its great country trails and forests around, the town has little to offer except being a base to sleep. It feels very functional and food choices ae limited. It's high spots are the chateau grounds and its Battle of Bulge museum, some other gardens and a memorial tower, but plan for less than 1/2 day. Sports facilities are a plus point too - not that you'll need extra fitness - streets are steep. For one solid memory, head west out of town to the National liberation memorial at the Schumanns Eck crossroads. It recognises the allies liberation of the area in late 1944-45 through a 3km installation trail of 65 life-size silhouettes images of real US and German soldiers and civilians present during the Ardennes offensive. Go early and in eerie silence appreciate your freedom.Guest review byNiks travelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It's a wonderful place.
It's a wonderful place. Luxembourg City itself can be explored in a day or two, so if you're planning a longer stay, be sure to rent a car and explore the rest of this magnificent country. Luxembourg City is beautiful, clean, and safe. It's worth walking around the impressive fortifications, seeing the cathedral, the ducal palace (open in summer), and the beautiful townhouses. If you have more time, you can visit the museums: I especially recommend the Municipal Museum and Fort Thüngen. An unforgettable experience!Guest review byBartlomiejPoland - 10.0
The chateau museum, exhibition and tour was fantastic.
The chateau museum, exhibition and tour was fantastic. Highly recommend taking the time to see the exhibition before touring the chateau. We also took the chairlift up to the high viewing point and had a few drinks. Not the cheapest but nowhere in Luxembourg is cheap. The views were great and it was worth the trip. We also visited the newly refurbished open air swimming pool which the kids loved and added a bit of relaxation to the trip. It was very clean and well maintained. The town itself has plenty of bars and restaurants to sample during a short stay, especially the ones with views over the riverGuest review byJackUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Bollendorf is in a nice setting but the town has few facilities, and speaking to locals it appears much of the tourist business has been damaged by a combination of COVID lockdowns and the devastating floods in 2021.Guest review byRichard HounsellUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It's a good base for the area.
It's a good base for the area. The castle with the brewery, museum and Battle of the Bulge museum were interesting (1/2 a day max). Its worth climbing the tower for the view. There's a enough bars & restaurants to offer variety for a few days. We're not hikers, so no idea on that.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom
