Room: The room was very spacious and clean and bright for such an affordable price. Bed: Bed was big with fluffy pillows and no decorative throws, etc., which for me was very positive for cleanliness. Bathroom: The shower was spacious, there was shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and a moisturizer (if I am not mistaken) and there was also a big hairdryer, which -as a person with long hair- I greatly appreciated. Big, crisp white towels and a very absorbent towel for the floor. Amenities: There was a very nice sofa, a small desk, a spot to place the suitcase, drawers for your clothes in case of an extended stay. a big mirror, a huge TV, multiple sockets including USB and type c for charging your phone, free wifi and cups and pots to make tea or coffee in your room. Hotel: The bar and restaurant was open until 22.30. As hotel does not offer room service you are also able to order something from the restaurant and wait for it, or pick it up later and take it to your room. The breakfast is very good, there are many hot and cold options, you can make your own waffle, toast bread, etc. I really enjoyed it. I even got to take a coffee from the coffee machine to my room as they offer to go cups. There is also a board with the flight schedule and the hotel has an airport shuttle (for which I paid 7 euro). As a side note, I had the cherry beer during dinner as recommended by my very kind server, which was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it.

    First of all, I'd like to express my gratitude to Inga, the receptionist we had the pleasure to meet. She was not only polite and helpful while assisting us upon check-in, but went an extra mile.. in fact a lot of extra miles. She practically organized the whole stay for us: advised on which walking tour to take, where and what to eat, where to get the best view on the city and even kindly recommended a mini organ concert in the Riga Cathedral which btw was astonishing! Besides this experience, we really enjoyed the size and style of our room, as well as the amenities in it (e.g: you can rarely find shoehorn and douche by the toilet in European hotels). Regarding breakfast, sparkling wine was a nice touch to it. The SPA facilities were also nice, loved the steam room after having walked the whole day in freezing winter temperature.

    The surroundings of the hotel is simply amazing. Recharging nature all around, the hotel is basically in the middle of a forest. We loved the breakfast on the terrace, high variety of local products, the sauna zoom was very relaxing :)

    I was really disappointed with my recent visit to this city.

    I was really disappointed with my recent visit to this city. A few years ago, everything here was wonderful – people were kind, welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm. Unfortunately, this time it was the complete opposite. People seemed angry, unfriendly, and aggressive. No one smiled, and rudeness was very common. The worst experience was with taxi drivers. They didn’t greet or say goodbye, didn’t help with luggage – neither putting a suitcase in the trunk nor taking it out – and their overall attitude was simply terrible. Sadly, this visit left me with a very negative impression, and it was nothing like the city I remembered before. The only truly amazing place we found was Kwak Inn on Dome Square. It was super-duper! The staff there were friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Compared to the rest of the disappointing experience in the city, this place really stood out in the best possible way.

    There is spa available for day pass £25 for adult for 2.5 hours in Jurmala Spa hotel. No need to book in, walk in welcome. Excellent facilities and kids friendly lots to do. I went twice wile on my trip. Lots of lovely restaurants, bubs and shops to explore for all liking. You can have lovely walk on the beach, it has activitys available and Caffè to enjoy during and view even if it's windy.

    I like the hotel because of its location, cleanliness and customer service at the reception. I did not like the restaurant and its staff because they do not serve enough food at the breakfast even though you pay for it. If you do not go to breakfast early, you only get some leftovers. They do not bring any additional food for missing items.

    Great small town.

    Great small town. Big attractions are the castle; the forest walks for hikers; the nearby outdoor activity centre with kayaking etc; lovely restaurants and cafes - good food but not expensive. Friendly people, courteous drivers, feels very safe to stroll around.

    In march the was not much happening in the town. Rates Varti restaurant was cosy but the dishes were served almost cold. The lunch in the Wolmar Hotel cost only 6 euros beeing well worth it. The Olympic Casino was a strange place for gambling addicts.

    A hidden pearl of Latvia and Old Livonia with an island resort in the middle. Despite being almost 200 km from the seashore the city had an inspiring shore holiday feel with a great beach side island in the middle of the city. Great place to learn about the history and the origin of written Latvian language.

    Have been there probably 5 times, different properties and not always staying the night, sometimes just for a walk, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for the beach or for forest walk. Lilaste is for those who appreciate nature and don't want the pretentious wannabe posh style of Jurmala, but instead just to relax and feel nature and tranquility around you. And it's definitely cleaner than Jurmala.

    This is a very walkable city.

    This is a very walkable city. A lot of roads are cobbles so sensible footwear is advised. We plotted the main sights on Google maps, and got around everywhere in a day. The KGB building is worth seeing the free exhibition. (,tours have to be booked in advance).it is not on the same site s the Occupation Museum, which confused us. Google. The Corner House for the KGB museum.
