Everything was perfect. The staffs were super nice and kind(especially Muhammad, thanks!). The hotel staff picked me up when I arrived, and took me to the meeting point on my last day going to another city. Fes medina is not an easy place to find a way, so it was very helpful! (Other hotels don’t do that unless you pay more). My room was pretty big, and the facilities were in a good condition. The location couldn’t be better.

The service was beyond excellent. The guys at the reception, spa and restaurant were so fantastic. The manager deserves a separate SHUKRAN for being such a great hostess and making our stay so comfortable and unforgettable. She organized a very special breakfast table for us, with fresh orange juice, crepes, and other treats! We will definitely come back to this hotel just so that we can get spoiled.

Everything great. I extended my stay twice because I feel at home. The Riad is really beautiful and clean. The suite number 2 is huge and exquisite. The staff is exceptionally caring and very professional. I watched Mustafa, Meryeme, and Kenza go out of their way to cater to all the guests. I am still here because I love it.

Excellent facilities, large and clean room (and huge European king-size bed, my estimate 200 x 220ish cm), excellent gym, and, most importantly, superb staff. Wonderful trainers at the gym and spinning sessions (thanks Faryssy and the other trainer!), who are attentively looking to support all of the people working out at the gym. Front office staff also voluntarily walked with me to the nearest ATM. Overall, A+!

    I had a good time staying in this Riad. very beautiful (that's my first impression) staffs are nice and really helpful. breakfast is yummy and plenty. I really love the Fes traditional eggs. pool is big but I didn't have time to go swim. the room is comfortable. we got the room with balcony and I enjoy my morning on the balcony a lot. thank you so much for hosting us. we will definitely come back to Fes and stay here again!

    1. Very tastefully decorated, with an eye to authentic Moroccan style. 2. Amazing staff 3. Classical Moroccan breakfast (too big) If it's you first time to Fez, ask Taxi to drop you at Blue Gate. Cant drive up to the Riad because it's inside old city (Alternatively book a ride through the hotel) Have to be prepared to drag your bags about 200m from Blue Gate to the hotel or get one of the porters to carry them

    It is difficult to understand why Les Merinides does not have a higher rating on booking.com. This is an excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Evening drinks on the terrace overlooking the medina is memorable. Highly recommended.

To appreciate Fez, come with an open-mind, ready to explore a world that in many ways hasn't changed in hundreds of years.     Early September was the wrong time to go there (my mistake) - far too hot to be enjoyable. Getting around in the Medina was very difficult and sometimes frustrating. There one can easily fall into the trap of being accosted by self-styled guides who will take you to various shops and ask you for money at the end. Perhaps for an older traveller it would have been better to lodge outside the Medina and visit it from there with an official tour. On the positive side, some of the sites were very beautiful and the people mostly very friendly and helpful.

    The medina is a Unesco protected cultural heritage.

    The medina is a Unesco protected cultural heritage. Too bad the only thing you can see, apart from some (mostly closed) gates, is old narrow streets and shops. Locals prey on tourists in order to squeeze them dry :) In Rabat or Salé you can get a more authentic sense of a medina without the commercial pressure.
