- From $486.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 378 reviewsThis was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and it was worth every penny. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a whole package of activities and meals. When I arrived, I was a bit too early for check-in, so I was invited to do a tea tasting on a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. While I sampled 8 different types of tea, I watched a family of wild boars trot past, and I couldn’t help but laugh when a monkey stole a box of tea from a neighboring table. When I was invited to my bubble lodge, I was blown away by the details - flower petals on the bed, stunning views of nature. It would be perfect for a honeymoon, but I also enjoyed it as a solo traveler. I spent my afternoon watching the animals from my bubble - monkeys, wild boars, a black swan. I also took a long walk around the lake. The dinner (included in the room reservation) was exquisite. Three delicious courses and plenty of vegetarian options. I also really liked the tea bread served with tea chutney. During my dinner, I watched Java deer just outside of the panoramic windows. After dinner, I had a beautiful nighttime walk back to my bubble, and I laid in bed watching the stars and listening to animals rustling in the trees. When I awoke in the morning, I found that a pair of Java deer were looking into my bubble, and the black swan was also right outside. I took a rain shower outdoors with a bit of actual rain mixed in. I had a delicious breakfast that consisted of crepes, an omelet, yogurt, juice, tea, and more of my favorite tea bread. Next I borrowed a bicycle from the lodge and rode it to the tea museum, where I learned all about tea, and then I took a guided tour of the Bois Cheri tea factory. At the end, I had yet another tea tasting, and then it was time to check out of my hotel. All-in-all, I had a perfect stay and I really hope that I will have an opportunity to come back someday. I want to give a special shout-out to Tina, who took really good care of me in the restaurant.Guest review byLolaUnited States
- From $313.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.3Good - What previous guests thought, 2,006 reviewsMauritius is truly a wonderful place! We had a very large and comfortable room with lots of big windows and plenty of air conditioning. Everything was impeccably clean. The hotel has a nice private beach area with plenty of chairs and shade. It's a nice, smaller resort with a quiet, low-key vibe - very relaxing. Beautiful white sand beach. The waterfront staff were very helpful (especially Prakash!) They have a free glass-bottom boat and snorkel trip twice a day. The buffets were great! Staff were very helpful with anything we needed.Guest review byRobertUnited States
- From $336.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 768 reviewsFirst of all, I want to thank the resort for hiring great staff such as "Megha and Jarvin" Megha has the nicest smile and welcoming, she helped me a lot and made me feel at home, I'm sure I'll be coming back specially for her. As for Jarvin, he helped me arrange my activities outside the resort, he helped getting me a great taxi driver, who became a friend as well, sorry Jarvin if I gave you hard times with my late requests. Thank you everyone at Outrigger, you made my week really memorable, looking forward to visit again!Guest review byQueenBSaudi Arabia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 154 reviewsEverything. The location was great and although we had a lot of rain, the view was beautiful and there are so many birds around. The lodge itself is decorated nicely and the bed is comfy. The utensils and cooking facilities are ample. The breakfast is simple but enough (per person: 2 eggs, 3 slices of bread, jam, butter, cornflakes, yogurt, milk and fruit juice). Thank you, I highly recommend it.Guest review bySamanthaUnited Kingdom
- From $384.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 600 reviewsThe location was central between Blue Bay Beach and Mahébourg with a mall just 7 minutes away. The size of the hotel allowed for the friendly staff to remember each guests by name. The beach was beautiful, plenty of lounge chairs and great snorkeling! The food was beautifully presented (different menu every day) and drinks were delicious.Guest review byTraceyCanada

We had the apartment 14 upstairs which looked in better condition than the ones downstairs (where my friends were). Definitely recommend to book the room 14! Very close to a supermarket and a restaurant called le bistrot.Guest review byStéphaneFrance

I relocated here for a day to stay closer to the airport, having come from Bel Ombre—a remarkably scenic area that is a must-visit for travellers. However, Bel Ombre has very few restaurants, most of which are expensive and widely scattered, making it challenging without private transport. Without a car, our experience was quite difficult—until we finally rented one. In contrast, Mahébourg is far more tourist-friendly, offering numerous dining options and a pleasant seaside setting all within walking distance. Surprisingly, the overall costs were considerably cheaper than Bel OmbreGuest review byGaneshavishwaa VeluswwamyIndia - 8.0

There’s not much to do in Bel Ombre except for the hotel complex. There are also not really restaurants except those in the hotel complex. You are much better with a car. However the hotel complex is huge with plenty of facilities so you can easily stay at the complex for a few days if you don’t have a car/don’t want to go exploring.Guest review byLucyUnited Kingdom - 10
Nothing was lacking
Nothing was lacking The 2nd floor villa with a balcony view to the garden and sea was private with a superb vista it had a very well stocked kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Every attention to detail had been given with pottery and art it was aesthetically pleasing. provisions were easy to get and at short distance to obtain. what wasn’t evident from its description was its peace and privacy which for us gave the restorative and restful holiday we required.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Grand Sable is more of a location you drive through rather than a place to stay. It’s a nice place to see and stop to take pictures as you drive through but not really a place to stay for any length of time except maybe one night. The name sounds like there should a beach here but there is not.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10

We stayed for a day at the Shandri Beachcomber (bought a day pass) and the snorkeling from their beach was fantastic . Absolute amazing location but I wouldn't stay overnight there. Way too exensive for a dated resort and we weren't impressed by the quality of food and drink (it is an all inclusive resort) but you can't beat the location.Guest review byMariaAustralia - 10

I came in with some reservation due to the wind that was considered to be a problem by other visitors. Some others were ranking the West coast over the East Coast (we were on the East Coast) but after visiting the entire island, we were very happy about our choice.Guest review byAlbrUnited States - 10
