- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 455 reviewsI loved the concept of staying in a cabin on an eco farm and having the staff fill my fridge with prepared meals for me to heat when ready. It combined the best aspects of camping without having to worry about meal prep or sleeping on the ground. My bed was extremely comfortable and the AC kept my room at a reasonable temperature. I thoroughly enjoyed going for walks around the farm (tip: bring hiking boots) and taking late afternoon dips in the pool, which had stunning views. I requested vegetarian meals and they were always delicious (also the portions were huge -- I was able to save some leftover food from my dinners to eat for lunch on the following days). I took a farm tour with Sophie on my last morning and it was so interesting to learn about the different plants and animals that live on the farm. All of the staff were extremely helpful, but Sophie really went out of her way to make my stay perfect. I am already dreaming about coming back again someday!Guest review byLolaGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 476 reviewseverything was exceptional… this is not 4 stars resort, there is really no difference between it and the other 5 stars resorts in Mauritius, the service was amazing, they really do care about the customers comfort, we did the check in inside our room! what a great service!! they always care about the cleanliness of the room, and the house keeping was always there when we need them. all the staff were amazingly helpful, smiling, and so caring. the prices was really good compared to the other resorts. thank you sands team, you made our stay for the new year 2023 amazing and remarkable.Guest review byHalaSaudi Arabia
- From $430.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 524 reviewsExcellent service !!! the staff were excellent, including Mr Dave, Mr Benni, Lukmaan ,Nitesh , and the staff with the towels and entertainment area, Everyone is so polite, hospitable and helpful . The breakfast was good , the beach views were excellent , if you took a stroll up the beach the views are amazing . I travelled with 2 small kids ( aged 2 and 6 ) and they were so at home .The rooms were spacious enough to tuck away your luggage on shelves, and have a spacious room for the kids to be in . We opted for the Bed and Breakfast option , and it worked out great :)Guest review byKhadijaSouth Africa

My mum has problem with her leg and they arranged the room just near restaurant .and all my requests and questions were solved or answered very well. And I stayed 4 hotels ,all are 4or 5stars hotels around Mauritius island and their buffets for breakfast and dinner were high level among them.we even had a Chinese traditional topic eve buffet with high quality food and a live dancing show.Guest review byZHUYIChina
- From $1,375.17 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 144 reviewsTop standard hotel and resort. Spacious, well designed and perfectly equipped villas. Relatively good privacy. If not for the common inner court areas privacy would rank at top. Great service, adequate to a price. True variety in restaurants, they are totally not alike as in some resorts. Beach is not top notch for sea swimmers, but that is a general thing at Mauritius. Still good for sport and jogging. Overall expensive but is worth it.Guest review byAlexeiRussia

The beach outside Sands and the other hotels are beautiful, unspoilt white sands, however the public beach part further north is busier with people and cars on the road, and lots of fast food vans, cheap bars etc.Guest review byLucyUnited Kingdom - 10

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 10

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 8.0

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots. There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets. Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people. You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get aroundGuest review byPeterSouth Africa - 8.0

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly
