- From $1,015.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 617 reviewsit was an absolutely unforgettable experience. The hotel was nestled in the heart of the mountains, with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The room was cozy and comfortable, with large windows that offered breathtaking views of the mountains. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the mountains was truly magical. The chalet also had a lovely restaurant with delicious food and a terrace where you could dine while taking in the spectacular views. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure that our stay was enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was taking a hike through the mountains, with the hotel as our starting point. The scenery was absolutely stunning and we were able to truly appreciate the beauty of the natural surroundings. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the mountains with incredible views. It was a truly unforgettable experience and I can't wait to go back.Guest review byTaroolahMauritius
- From $933.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,571 reviewsVery attentive and kind staff. They were constantly stopping by to ask how our stay was going and give assistance. It was truly luxury, I appreciated the attention they gave to even the little details. Also was very relaxing with a beautiful view, coconuts and drinks at hand and had the calm and peaceful vibe going on. Yoga classes in the morning by the beach, there was always something going on and I loved that There were lots lots and lots of activities to do at the resort, many of which were complimentary so you were never bored. They even organised treasure hunts for prizes like free cocktails or massages.Guest review byPearlUnited Arab Emirates

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 457 reviewsWe had a wonderful winter surrounded by the natural beauty of Mauritius. The fresh air and the unique atmosphere of the eco-village, along with the cozy lodges, made our stay exceptional. Every evening, we enjoyed barbecues by the fireplace. The hiking and horseback riding experiences for our daughter were also delightful. Both breakfast and dinner provided by the hotel were perfect, thanks to the fresh, high-quality ingredients used.Guest review byBorisRussia

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10.0

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.Guest review byYogeshSpain - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 8.0

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots. There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets. Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people. You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get aroundGuest review byPeterSouth Africa - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly
