- From US$175.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 317 reviewsafter i booked the room i read reviews that were very negative so i was worried but when i got there and saw the property for myself it was beautiful the staff was very friendly the security was awesome there are 2 security check points one off the main street when you turn in to the property and one at the gate i loved that specially since i was travelling with my wife and kids the villa was beautiful remodeled and when you go out to your balcony the beach is right there!! and i loved that they even roped off the beach i felt very safe and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and newly remodeled the pool and jacuzzi are old and the water was a bit dirty but they were remodeling that area when we were there i dont like how they charge 600.00 deposit at check in it took my bank 5 days to return the funds back to my account but i understand why that security deposit is so high being in rosarito and you get alot of 18 year olds that go there to get drunk and party alot of them cant afford to pay a 600.00 security deposit which is good for travelers like us that are travelling with our families that just want to come out to relax and eat good foodGuest review byLorenaUnited States
- From US$186.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 851 reviewsThe staff are great. There is a varied menu and the food was always banging (amazing). Room service is efficient and was so handy to have available while I was stuck in an all day meeting. I forget the name of the chap on the bar near the sports room, but he's a top man! The level of English is varied but it doesn't deter staff from trying their best to help you. Hopefully next time my Spanish will be more than saying I can't speak Spanish :D I would like to say that the casino is quite varied and I was really happy to see actual card tables and not those boring ePOS machines. The dealers are charismatic and entertaining.Guest review byTiffyToolaUnited Kingdom

September 2025: It had been several years since I had come to TJ. I parked my car on the San Diego side and walked across the border. My boyfriend flew in. We took ubers. My boyfriend had never been there so we booked a TJ and Rosarito City Tour. That is a great way to see the highlights in a short time. The aquarium at the cultural center is small but well worth the view. We found some great restaurants. Ricardo's has a honey latte to die for and another local favorite very close to the beach condo was El Gran Yo Soy. Good food and excellent service. Rosarito is only about 25 minute drive away where we had a fabulous romantic lobster dinner. I don't wear my glittery jewlery to TJ to draw attention but I always felt safe. There were beautiful sunsets, great food and even saw a group of whales. It was a great romantic get-a-way.Guest review byBARBARAUnited States - 8.0
Ensenada is a great place to shop.
Ensenada is a great place to shop. The long street with many shops is full of interesting "finds." Many people speak English, and in some places you can still make a bargain to reduce prices. I was particularly amazed at the number of inviting-looking restaurants.Guest review byJanet - 10.0
Mexicali is a cute dessert town that keeps on growing...
Mexicali is a cute dessert town that keeps on growing despite its very hot and dry weather. Originally the lands that saw the crossing of the Cucapah, Cochimi, Kumeyaay, Pai Pai, Kiliwas and others accross the Californias without border. Mexicali has thrived culturally and its people are warm, kind and generous. Despite road infrastructure can be a challenge, it is an active place, unique cuisine that has integrated Chinese gastronomy. Their imput due to migrating waves from the 1800s has made a mark on the landscape of Mexicali. Healthy food and lifestyle continue to elevate Mexicali 'a must' destination holiday. Its Majestic Rumorosa with capricious rock formations makes this place memorable. All around there is something for you, whether you are vegetarian or carnivorous, carne asada is just delicious and la ruta del vino, only 1.20 min away offers a unique experience. You may need a week to experience this place. This place is peaceful but vibrant, safe, friendly and affordable.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
The location was nice. It's more of a Glamping Experience.
The location was nice. It's more of a Glamping Experience. The area felt secure. A few things that were lacking in our room. The TV didn't work. Smoke didn't work/battery was disconnected. We we're supposed to get firewood for the outside fire pits, but didn't get it. We could have used more towels in the bathroom.Guest review byCarlosUnited States - 4.0
If you are looking for a nice getaway, private and not...
If you are looking for a nice getaway, private and not harassed don't go here. There is a gatekeeper at the parking lot reporting to the owner right away and she has cameras at the front entrance. The condo had capacity for 6 people, I registered 3 and at the last minute took an extra 2 folks. Instantly, I was having to pay for those additional people through Zelle. The listing mentioned Air Conditioner, no such thing. My 96 year old father suffered at night without any cool air. The listing agent told me it was booking.com's fault. I called booking.com customer service and they stated it was her fault. Later that day, the property owner changed the listing to read “heating” vs air conditioner. Not having AC during these high heat wave times are not easy to deal with. It would have made sense to be transparent and price accordingly and add extra floor fans. Condition of the property could have been better. The hallway sink was slow at draining. The property owner thought it was odd that this was happening since the property gets verified before a new customer rents. I felt it was odder that there wasn’t any toilet paper for one of the bathrooms, plus the toilet paper holder was completely broken. Obviously, the unit was not thoroughly checked.Guest review byGloriaUnited States - 8.0

San Felipe is a very typical stop on the way to Baja Sur if traveling on Highway 5 (usually crossing in Mexicali.) The problem with San Felipe is that lodging tends to be very pricy. In the future (I've made this trip twice - I live in Loreto) I will probably cross and stay in Mexicali, then drive to Guerrero Negro the following day, skipping San Felipe. On the other hand, San Felipe is a nice little town and very accessible from southeast California and Arizona. So, if you're camping, it can be a very good and convenient option for a long weekend in Mexico without the issues attending border towns.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 6.0
San Quintin is growing.
San Quintin is growing. Calimax, plenty of Oxxo's, El Florido.. The Hotel was to far out of San Quintin to enjoy any activities or to enjoy the restaurants. We had business in Vicente Guerreo at the orphanage but we couldn't enjoy our time because of the distance. We ate at the Santa Isabel restaurant which was great. Great Menu and reasonable prices. Tecate is a sleepy border town that has upgraded over the past decades. With its old fashioned plaza and church, fun shops, and great restaurants, it is a great introduction to Mexico. Safe, very friendly, and known for the famous Rancho La Puerta spa.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10.0

This is a filthy town.
This is a filthy town. The people I met with were nice, but wherever you turn, you see filth, disorder and chaos. Granted, in a border town, you can't expect greatness. But compare it to San Ysidro, another border town on the US side. Granted, San Ysidro is unappealing; but Tijuana is filthy.Guest review byArunUnited States
