It is the best hotel I’ve ever been in. The staff were super friendly, kind and nice. We just feel that we got friends. The breakfast was really cool. The atmosphere of the hostel is awesome, very friendly, peaceful meanwhile active. Also, there various places for work or being relax. it is really like a nice and picky hotel. Bathroom were clean. Kitchen facilities were perfect. The staff wear beautiful clothes everyday. And they are generous. The beds were also equipped with curtains, reading lights , 2 outlets. I made many good friends, too.

Rooms were nice, the staff was nice, had everything we needed from nice AC to a cup of coffee, not to mention the new addition of a vending machine for any snacks or drinks we may want. It was my first time at this hotel and, of course, Mérida, and if I ever come back, I will 100% be booking my stay at this place again!

Historical city with lots of wonderful restaurants featuring Yucatecan cuisine. I loved walking around the Municipal Market (Mercado)...so much to see and buy there Side trips to Valladolid and cenotes, and Xcambo and Xtampu were interesting and reasonably priced. I also took a cooking class from Sofia at her home...a fun day with excellent Yucatecan food.

The downtown area is full of good restaurants with excellent Yucatecan food with reasonable prices, and service. The main Cenote and local food market is easily walkable from the main square. Walking is the best mode of transportation as everything is close by. The locals are welcoming and kind with a spirit of community and acceptance to outsiders. If you are fortunate enough to rent a place with a kitchen there is a grocery store on 39th street with everything you need to make a meal. They have a Turi bus that will pick you up at the main plaza for a fee and will take you around all the important parts of the city. The ADO Bus station is close by and can be used for trips to close by towns. They also have a "Vay y Ven" bus system for short trips around town. Valladolid is a quaint Spanish colonial style town with colonial architecture buildings mostly painted in pastel colors.

Progreso is just an amazing town.

Progreso is just an amazing town. If you have ever been to Puerto Vallarta, I think Progreso feels like PV back when Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were wandering around. A little less crazy busy, a little smaller, a little more town than city. People are awesome, the Yucatan culture is very present and it has a different vibe than the Atlantic side. The Gulf Of Mexico is truly a guilty pleasure. We spent hours in that warm bath water. Progreso has great people. great food, great sites, a great beach, and a wonderful Malecón/Boardwalk combo. The boardwalk side is on the other side of the Pier and it is also awesome with a different vibe. It has a local family feel and an amusement park. Just a great stay. Over all the stay was great, hacienda was beautiful staff was not the best customer service! Waiters were great receptionist were not attentive perhaps they made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome! Would I go again yes! Hacienda was beautiful, and I will definitely go back just because of the comfort, and I would like to spend more time to enjoy the pool and peaceful feeling. I would also go back to try the spa, si ce I didn’t have the time. If I go back and I receive the same customer service from receptionists might go to another spa!

We loved Izamal, it's such a beautiful city and the people are super friendly. Even the guy selling fresh juice in the town square was really friendly, yelling out good morning. Izamal is a visually stunning town as well, photographers will love it so don't forget your camera! And the food was delicious everywhere we went. My friend had never been before and we both want to go back.

This gem of a seaside village is my go to place to get away.

This gem of a seaside village is my go to place to get away. I love the fact that there are few foreign tourists and you get to experience a more genuine local culture. Although generally very safe during the day, make sure you lock up well at night and I recommend you find a private parking lot. I love the fact that the beach (all public - there are no private beaches in Mexico) is unpretentious without all the fuss (and charges) you get on the Riviera Maya. Local families just bring their umbrellas (or makeshift shade with old coconut leaves), their coolers, loudspeakers, dogs, and spend the whole day (from 6 am to 7pm or later). The beach is relatively quiet as groups are spread out and there's plenty of space. If you walk for 10 - 15 minutes on the beach you will find areas with no one in sight. The pier is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. It's a great place to rest and take long strolls on the beach far from the maddening crowds. You also won't find overpriced souvenir and crafts peddlers. I am disappointed that they don't serve a larger variety of seafood dishes in restaurants. All you find in most places are prawn, octopus and fish ceviches and if you don't eat lemon, you're in a pickle. This time I found some fresh oysters (small but tasty) but would have loved to have had some chargrilled fish or fresh clams. I guess there's just not enough demand. There are a few options though, including some vegan / vegetarian places.

The house is beautiful and comfortable, and in a great location close to the beach. Our host was very friendly and eager to accommodate us in any way to make our stay more enjoyable. He gave us numerous suggestions of things to do while in town that were very fun, and any time we had questions or needed anything, he responded right away. If we ever return to visit Sisal, we would definitely stay there again.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.
