- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 502 reviewsWe stayed in cottage 5. The view here is by far the best view you will find anywhere in Norway. Glaciers, water falls, the lake the fjord - all from our deck. The facilities were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did some kayaking on Oldevatnet lake (included) and there is plenty of good hiking nearby. If you're coming to Norway to do some camping or car/cottage like us, put this place on your list. My only suggestion is to buy groceries in Stryn as the prices are higher in Loen and Olden.Guest review byCharlesCanada
- From US$148.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 818 reviewsThe views from our room and the balcony were exceptional. The room was comfy and welcoming. Dinner was very reasonable for anywhere - especially Norway. Traditional Norwegian dishes were available. We got to dinner just before a few buses of tourists. That was a treat. Breakfast was pretty good but many of the items had run out after the bus tours had eaten nearly everything. Staff were very helpful.Guest review bySusanFrance
- From US$453.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 714 reviewsThe facilities are amazing and the staff are delightful. We loved being here for 4 days as we got to use everything. The pool and spa are so lovely after hiking all day. The gym is nice and clean with good quality equipment. Loen is a fantastic destination, so much to see and do. The Fjord and the lake are stunning and it was all easily accessible from Hotel Alexandra. We will definitely be back.Guest review byKateAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 571 reviewsWe stayed in a self-catering cottage next to the hotel . The cottage was well equipped, clean, and there was lots of space. We have a 3 week trip, and sometimes you want to eat your own choice of food. There was a supermarket nearby what was really nice.Guest review byJan Hendrik MostertSouth Africa

My adult daughters and I were visiting Norway and planned to drive from Bergen to Alesund. We chose the Loen because it was about half way between each city. We spent two nights at the Loen. The beds were comfortable. Food was very good considering my kids are vegetarian. Desert table was amazing. Spa area was lovely, relaxing and we spent a few hours just lounging in the waters - showere, sauna, steam, cold plunge, whirlpool etc. Pools were also fun. We also went hiking in the area. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 10.0

Olden is a beautiful little town next to Loen with drives and outdoor acitivities galore. We stayed 2 days and could have stayed at least 2 more. We did the Skylift, ate at Hoven, drove to the Briksdal glaciar and the Kjenndalsbreen Glacier. Loved it!Guest review byBrasel - 8.0

Great area for a weekend or just to break a long drive over the mountains. Will definitely go back. Lovely thoughtful details, chairs and a rug by the waterside, a rowing boat to borrow, a sauna for after your swim in the glacialmelt water. Interesting hamlet with lots of buildings being restored.Guest review byPamela DunbarNorway - 10.0
Lovely location on the Fjord. Gorgeous.
Lovely location on the Fjord. Gorgeous. Not a whole lot to do except short hikes along the Fjord, or going on organized tours. In general, it is a good idea to check hiking possibilities on online sites before going somewhere in Norway. When the fjords are very steep that there aren't many easily accessible hikes, which we didn't anticipate. But the walk along the Fjord was jaw-dropping and you can go a long way. We tried to rent a bike and the minimum rental period was 3 hrs, and we didn't have that much time.( It is a small place so an hour's rental would have sufficed. ) The glacier museum was nice for 60-90 min.Guest review bySanjeevUnited States - 2.0
We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to...
We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to Geiranger. We booked a room with two queen beds for three people, but it was nothing like the pictures shown on the website. The room was dark, outdated, and extremely small. There wasn’t even enough space to open the luggage for three people. We paid almost $350 for one night, but it wasn’t even up to the standard of a one-star hotel. On the day of arrival, we received an email instructing us to pick up the key from a pizza shop next to the hotel instead of the reception, and we never saw anyone at the reception during our stay. The next day, we called the hotel several times to check out, but no one answered, and we never received a call back. I would absolutely not recommend this place.Guest review byHelenUnited States - 10.0
For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed...
For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed glacial valleys all topped by Europe's largest Ice Field, this place is as picturesque and likable as anywhere on Earth. The Glacier Museum in Fjaerland sports a riveting breathtaking 20 minute flyover surround video of the Jostedalsbreen Ice Field. With all this, it's also quiet and peaceful - not overrun by tourist buses at allGuest review byLeif - 8.0

Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented.
Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented. One must be aware it is not a modern building and therefore do not expect modern luxury but it is a true experience. Location and views are amazing. Price is too high though all considering.Guest review byMarkNetherlands
